Someone more familiar with Spurs history than me... is he the best player thats ever played for Spurs?
I've not seen anyone better, but I was born in 1985. My dad (b.1955) would cite Greaves, Mackay, Hoddle, possibly Ossie.

Can’t believe I’ll have so much free time tomorrow now that he has signed! Might need to spend it with the mrs instead of here ?

Some of the much older generation may say Greaves, or Hoddle, possibly Gazza. But I was born in 91 and in my lifetime he is definitely so.

Whatever you do don’t ruin your day by watching the team actually play football - that way misery lies!

Hopefully now he spends the next few weeks working with the physio to get him to peak condition & then he can build his confidence after the international break.

By the time we face our run of difficult fixtures (Gameweek 9) he should be in peak form.

There's the obvious one's like Greaves, Mackay and Hoddle who will be mentioned, but i'd have to throw Modric into the hat as well. Everything Bale has won at Madrid, Modric has won too, along with a Ballon d'or as well.

In my opinion yes, i am 48 and have grown up with Hoddle, Waddle, Gascoigne, Lineker, klinsmann etc. Bale is in my opinion is the still the best out of these world class players in our history

For those who don't know what happened, let me give you the rundown.

Bale turned up yesterday, we decided we wanted to milk the moment by yet again bringing the skywalk into matters. Unfortunately Bale got stuck. He's had to wait overnight and nobody had a big enough ladder. Eventually Crouch was called for but he was demanding interview exclusive with Bale for B.T and then we've had to wait 6 hours for Levy to negotiate that fee. Looks like the deals agreed and we're all systems go.

I mean, no. Talent wise maybe. But in terms of what makes best, he'd probably be top ten but Mackay, Greaves and Blanchflower from the 60s. Hoddle in the 80s for longevity as well as the ability, and some have a real softspot for Gazza

For me, other than Bale, the only player in my lifetime who single handedly won games for us was Gazza. I loved Ginola and Klinsmann and obviously Van Der Vaart was absolute quality (I missed Greaves and Hoddle), but it has to be Bale for me.

In my top five at the very least. Right up there with Hoddle, Greaves and Gazza.

Really good to see a lot of our players are 'liking' the Bale posts from Spurs' Instagram account - and it's a lot more likes from our squad than when we signed Hojberg, Hart and Doherty. It's not just the first team squad either, it's the youth players too.

I think this signing has really given the whole club a massive lift. ?

Probably Jimmy Greaves, I'd then Put Bale 2nd and Gazza 3rd and Hoddle 4th if we're talking pure ability.

What date's the October international break? And it said match fitness. Any chance he might make a couple of sub appearances in the weeks before then we think?
