I’ve been pretty optimistic about this transfer but it seems to be quite unlikely now, which is a shame. Still been a fantastic window

Ally Gold says we’re £13m apart(£32m to £45m). If thats the case, it really shouldnt be so difficult to get done unless we’re already at the limit our finances would allow.

Split the difference. £38.5m. Job done. ?

(that's less than the figure we paid for Sanchez 3 years ago) ?

What if all we can afford is 20 odd million and Inter want the majority up front? It’s really not as simple as a lot of people keep making out. If we are really that far apart, then I don’t think it’s a matter of just going for broke on a transfer. I reckon for this to happen Inter are going to have to blink first.
I appreciate its not simple but I still fancy there's a chance. It just doesn't sound that far apart and with the sale of Foyth and the EL money, plus the fact we got a striker on a cheap loan rather than having to purchase one, it seems more likely to me.

Would be optimal but i have a feeling with all the bits coming out about Jose mot being bothered about a CB and us being done means that we wont go higher.

Just catching up on things. I wonder if Foyth and other outgoings could go towards upping our offer? Must be some middle ground we can get too.

Don‘t get me wrong, I still think there’s a chance, I just don’t think it’s a case of us just paying up. I reckon we have a price we are willing to pay, hopefully Inter come down a bit and we are able to go up a bit. But I don’t see a £13 million pound swing in Inter’s favour.

Can't we just get Mendes involved and get him to somehow get Inter to agree a loan with a fee of 3m...

Yep, probably right, unless we can somehow offload some players for cash.

That sort of figure though for a potential top notch centre back is not bad, but possibly beyond our reach currently.

bear in mind Tanganga has emerged and now we can play Ben Davies at CB so maybe Jose thinks we are covered despite Foyth
Covered in numbers, real quality though ?

This window has been beyond our wildest dreams, but just for once it would be great to complete the jigsaw and really have a go.

13m add on if we qualify for CL. Get it done Levy.

Fwiw just seen on twitter gazetta are reporting all negotiation are off as we wouldn’t match their bid abd we aren’t expecting to go back with another. How reliable that is I don’t know

I feel like we've come too far to not get this over the line now. We've gone balls out in this transfer window, let's go all the way and get the old chap out as well. If it works, amazing, if it doesn't, at least we did all that we could and have no regrets.

I would be very surprised if we don't have one last attempt with a slight upping of the bid on Monday.

All this reporting that we're not preparing to offer more is surely final posturing from our end.

Not really the thread for it but does anyone know of any academy centre backs that are looking good at present , perhaps catching Jose's eye and making him less concerned about letting other defenders leave ? Was always under the impression that Tanganga was never really the cream of the Centre Back crop , but obviously he caught the managers eye & the rest is history.

Tbh...at this stage it's like a poker game between Levy and Inter, so I doubt that the media or itk will really know,it's that time when Levy keeps his cards close to his chest.... I gotta feeling this still has legs seeing as he has sold two Ch already.

If you look at the narrative spectrum the most positive end is Ally Gold and even that end is "we're 15m £ apart and hope Inter compromise" so taking the deal is unlikely/not going to happen stance is probably right. People should ready themselves for the greater likelihood this deal doesn't happen. Gazetta have never been reliable but they also have been their normal horrible self on this specific deal so take that as you will.

Levy will 1000% get a twitchy trigger finger on deadline day and go in one last time. He can’t help himself, he loves the deadline day deal.

Not saying I think it will be successful, but all those journos saying he won’t go back in clearly don’t know how this man operates.

It's the final weekend of the window. It'll be off and on several times to get the replies, clicks, views, whatever. Take EVERYTHING from any media outlet with salt from now.

It’s actually pretty cool going into the last day knowing that we have most of the pieces that we’ve wanted.
