Warning to any new spurs fans here. Never let yourself get to excited or ahead of yourself. The spurs dna will always come through.

Exactly this. TBF, the clues have been there all season.

Conceding late goals to lose points is classic Spurs. It’s actually something which we haven’t had a lot of in the last few years and never thought it would rear it’s ugly head in a Jose team.

Never in my life would I have thought I would see a match where a Jose team would give up a 3 goal lead with 8 minutes to go.

It seems the Spurs DNA is more powerful than the Special One!

Besides a change or two in the starting XI, I genuinely can't see any evidence that the tactics changed at all to suit the opposition over the last 3 games.

We sit back, absorb pressure, and try and counter. Or we score a goal, sit back, absorb pressure, and try and counter. When we go behind, we go long from Toby to a forward and 9/10 it gets intercepted because their team is sat deep.

It must be pretty easy to set-up against and nullify.

I listened to the guy on tottenham tv and he said they could hear kasper schmicheal shouting at his defenders constantly not to go to high up the pitch. They know how we play, jose needs a plan B.

Moura, Sanchez, Lamela, Winks can all be sold.

I'd also say I'm not seeing why Lo Celso offers any more than Dele.

I was a bit of a Gio fanboy last year, I’m starting to question that although I still rate him highly.

Firstly, Jose should have stuck with Bergwyn on the right, Gio is not a right midfielder.

Secondly, Gio and Sissoko don’t work together, they have no chemistry. Gio’s style is a bit chaotic, he thinks on his feet and plays fast, all over the pitch. I think this confuses Sissoko, he’s better playing in a simple, structured formation (with Tanguy and Hojbjerg for example) where he doesn’t have to make quick decisions.

That’s not really a Sissoko diss, I think he has his merits. More a criticism of Lo Celso, his chaotic style breaks up our structure and overwhelms the other players.

Less said about that game the better to be honest. Not often we can say that all 11 players (and subs) had a terrible day.

Allowing teams to start stronger is too much to over turn if we go behind. The momentum is with them.
Merry Christmas Tottenham FC, Boris's xmas plans have turned out better.

The only positive for me is one of the hardest run of games any team will have this season is done. That set of fixtures would have taken a toll on any team.

Yeah I don’t think that should be over looked at all (obviously it will be, the Mourinho haters are already here, glad we lost, ready to sharpen their knives).

Mourinho-football. Been saying it since he was hired - Jose Mourinho is the worst thing to happen to the club since Graham. His brand is completely outdated, and Levy fucked up on giving him a long term contract.
Unfortunately a lot of supporters and the press are to caught up in his cult of personality to open their eyes.
I gave you a negative rating so you go and find an older post of mine which is nothing to do with this thread so do the same. My 5 year old is more grown up than you.

PEH still working his nuts off. One of the only players that wants and shows for the ball. He is definitely exempt from criticism for me.
I think actually over the last couple of games PEH has been a bit under par. Certainly today he was running after shadows. Not necessarily his fault as sissoko adds very little....

The two times we have looked absolutely horrendous this season were against Everton and the second half today.

Without one of Ndombele or Lo Celso in the middle we are abysmal. This is probably why Jose rotates them, and we just got very very unlucky today with Gio's injury. As soon as that happened we were done for.

Having said that, Winks should have come in for Lo Celso, it was pointless to bring on Moura.

The introduction of both Bale and Moura made Son anonymous... 4-2-4 never works.

It’s becoming very clear that both Bale and Moura are finished at this level.

Whereas Sissoko and Aurier returned to their former selves today, disgraceful performance by both of them.

Worrying signs but nothing new Sissoko and Aurier my god just when you think Mourinho's apparently improved them, these aren't two aren't winning any league. The whole game hinged on that daft penalty but not to fly out of the traps 2nd half, deserved to lose. Psychologically the defeat from Liverpool was on this one and if Mourinho gives an interview to say we were the best team like last time then I know he's adopting the decline we've seen in charge of his previous clubs. Good job fans weren't in would have rightly booed that pile of crap today.

Gonna have to avoid the Jose thread. I can see this all being blamed on his negative tactics, but failing to realise that's not the reason we couldn't make simple passes or move into space.

It might be worth going in there to see who to put on your ignore list!

I worry about Harry
Son hasn’t signed contract yet
I don’t think it’s going to work with Jose’s tactics of keep it tight for 80 mins then try and win it in the last ten , I’ve had enough I hope levy has as well
They looked shit today. But they’ve played 3 full games in a week and that’s a lot of defending.

I’m not defending the performance today, because it was indefensible.

But this really is a game of fine margins. So many sliding door, if only moments in the last 3 games

Palace - that ridiculous save in the 92nd minute from the Dier free kick. 6 days later the same goalie lets in 7 against who else, but Liverpool

Liverpool - Kane scores that header 99 times out of 100, to say nothing of Bergwijn or that double deflection in the first half, or that stupid set piece conceded in the 90th min from which they, of course score.

Leicester - Aurier, shit for brains......enough said.

Moura and Bale - it’s like playing with 9 men. Neither offers anything. Moura just loses the ball and gets outmuscled. Bale just doesn’t even know what to do when he receives the ball.

Dont mind negs, just the dumb ones (dohs and spams without reason or an explanation). Though, tbf, it was a rather infantile reaction

Have we truly played well since Man Utd? Feels like a long time, like everyone I was dreaming of winning the league but reality is we’re nowhere near good enough, barely scrapping wins against brom and burnley, throwing away Spam, Palace and Newcastle, it’s another case if us being near the top because of how bad others are doing vs us being particularly good. I thought things had changed after man utd but seems we’re the same as ever, teams below us win games in hand we’re 7th...

We started with both of our Cm's sitting on our back 4 which was already deep in fear of Vardy's pace.

This allowed Leicester to build unpressed with their 3 at the back pushing on the WB's.

This allowed Leicester to attack us while keeping enough behind centrally denying space to Kane and others to nulify our counters.

Aurier penalty was piss poor and probably seals his fate with us at the club, no new contract offer now Serge.

Bringing on Bale at HT was ludicrous, not even sure why he is on the 9 man bench ahead of Dele.

Taking Lo Celso coming off and replacing him with Lucas is again baffling, surely you go like for like and bring on Winks?

Definately think there was a hangover from the Liverpool game, even Liverpool were dodgy in the 1st half yesterday against Palace.

I maintain Mourinho is not the right manager for us, Rodgers is a better fit for our club.
