And 4 assists... so 7 contributions in 10 games. Whole team has scored 12 goals in that time. You trying to dig him out?

not entirely cause he is an excellent player . But still inconsistent and does not fall into the world class bracket IMO

I'd love to hear the list of better wingers in the world than Son.

mane , salah in the premier league . Sterling can be but I’d probably say they are similar ability

I can’t judge from overseas as I do not watch enough, gnabry and sane are big game players though from the times I watch Munich

He's maybe even with Sterling and Salah and Mane are slightly better. He's absolutely a world class player.

I want to agree , I just do not see the consistency over a season, needs to hit the 20+ goal mark in the league for me . Love him though

If he plays for City and Liverpool he's hitting better numbers then Sterling and equal to Mane and Salah.

This is just so dumb. Any player would look like shit if they were in a side of strangers with absolutely no identifiable style of play.

Wo would you replace him with? Someone with similar numbers in a top league, in his prime years?
I’m not saying I want him out or want him replaced, I’m saying that giving him parity with Kane to keep him is laughable as he’s nowhere near the player Kane is. He’s a very good player, occasionally great, often missing. Kane is one of the top five players in the world.

If Son is happy to accept what he’s worth then great, keep him till he retires, I love him. If not, it’s not Kane.

But you knew I wasn’t saying I wanted him replaced, only that he was more replaceable than Kane, and that those two things are different, didn’t you...

Imagine being amongst the best five people at what you do

Out of millions who try or dream

Enjoy him while we can

So Kane is irreplaceable, therefore Son is more replaceable? I guess so, but I'm still not sure who we could replace him with that would be achievable and as good or better?

I haven't seen reports that Son is asking/demanding the same package as Kane - if that is true then his advisors need to be told to calm down.

Does any1 else have a worry that Sonny has mentally checked out ? A bit like Eriksen ? Love him to bits as a player, but looked unhappy and poor yesterday.

You could say the same thing for a lot of players.

He probably knows he's not being played in the right position and frustrated. Also think he puts a lot of pressure on himself to deliver (esp when no kane) and must be all too aware that the formation yesterday was not working. Not sure he's the type of player to complain though.

Son's knackered plus defences have adjusted to how he plays, he doesn't have any proper chances these days, when he can attack the box with pace.

Maybe Mourinho tried to change things up with moving him closer to the centre with three at the back, but right now that means his only option is dribbling into traffic.

Son is a world class finisher, he is better than most if not all on this front but he lacks the close control and trickery of sterling and Salah, his first touch had never been great when he’s pressured by the defender thus making him more one dimensional compared with Sterling and Salah. That’s why he will only be world class when we play to his strength. If he was asked to lead the line like last night then all we are doing is exposing his weakness. There is a reason why he was on fire when we are playing the dreaded low block and counter attacking football as this actually was playing to his strength where there is more space for him to work with and he can utilize his straight line speed to get a shot on goal.

Its not hard to play for Bayern when there's little competition in their league.
