150m gets him this season, if clubs are going to piss about with 100-120m bids then we tell them they can have him in a years time for that price.

Problem is every year he is guaranteed to pick up a six week injury lay off, so what happens if we keep him and he gets 2/3 of these in a year next year?

His value plummets, footballers are only ever one injury hit season away from mediocrity.

What’s happens if we sell him and piss the money up the wall as we did with Bale (highly likely it happens again in my opinion)

Heaven forbid he has to raise a child in Paris or Madrid! Apparently they eat children there and don't even speak English.

Play abroad to win some trophies, fine. Set up in direct opposition in a utd shirt, dick.
None of which are Spurs, or spurs fans problem.

IF the press was briefed on his instructions then he has not only thrown his "best mate" under the bus at the worst possible time, but pretty much the entire club and everyone associated with it, including you and I..

Listen im a spurs fan not a kane fan per se (although i love the bloke)... i was responding from what i see are the factors at hand here.

Ok lets say we consider only selling him - youre only looking at PSG who would buy him. None of the other three will. Kane says no - then what? we keep him for three years until he runs his contract down and lose out on the money to reinvest back into the squad? No point in keeping a world class striker when the ones behind him arent good enough.

This year he didnt get that - i think two perhaps three weeks. The thing is most of the strikers have had injuries etc - im thinking Vardy, Aguero, Jesus, Aubameyang, Ings,... I get what youre sayign he gets those regularly but his goals return is still impressive as fuck.

I would hold him to his contract, he wants Shearers record so he would keep scoring. I personally think money received from his sale is likely to be spent really poorly anyway. I’ve no idea where anyone can get any confidence in our current recruitment being very successful.

I know, I agree but what it has to tail off somewhere and realistically we hold our breath everytime he goes down injured that alone may be enough to put teams off paying 100+

Honestly guys don't do it to yourselves.

The result was shit but will not change a thing in the grand scheme of things. If Levy wants Kane to stay he will stay.

It is all redundant anyway, Levy will only delay the inevitable. Kane will leave next season, the glimmer of hope that we show ambition and give him a reason to stay next season is a pipe dream.

Levy won't sanction any gambles and we lack so much now there is no manager who could get the squad to a level needed in a year anyway.

Let's enjoy him while we can, he may have not risen to his high standards in certain cup finals etc but I can guarantee that nearly every person on this forum will not see a better player at for us.
Think there's far more pressure on Levy than some folks realize. There'll be even more next season with fans in the stadium. My take, if Kane wants to go this season, he goes.

Levy has to finally get round to doing what he should have done long ago...sort us out as a football club and get in folks who know what they're doing re our football future; not as a neverending money-making machine for Enic without both clear focus and investment where it matters on the football pitch.

I'm still of the opinion that no one who Kane will want to leave for will pay what Levy will demand to be honest. Perhaps he should have thought about that before his management leaked the story (if indeed they did).

Yes. Keep him. If he sulks fine he doesnt play. If he runs down his contract fine. We'll get another 3 years of him (increasing our chances of winning somerthing) He'll be 31 and City etc would have moved on.

No player, Not even Harry Kane is bigger than Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. I love the bloke as a player but if these rumours are true he has done the club that made him what he is a huge disservice.

I think this is what's happened with Ings, a quality player who should be at a bigger club. Yet nobody will touch him because they think he's a crock and too risky (and he'd be available at far cheaper a price than Kane would!).

If, next season, Kane experiences multiple injury layoffs, then he presumably becomes - like Ings - an ever more risky proposition that will force clubs to weigh up his worth when healthy versus the time spent in the medical room. Particularly as he'll be heading towards 29 next season. He's the type of player who could probably adapt his game to keep playing for a long time, but he's definitely looked sluggish, heavier and less mobile as time has worn on and more injuries will only hasten that.

It’s a (low) risk worth taking

if we said he has to stay for the remainder of his contract he isn’t going to down tools and sulk. Firstly he isn’t that kind of player and secondly he has the premier league scoring record in his sights and I think he is hungry to get it. He is going to keep playing and trying to score wherever he is playing.

This is a great point, I have thought for a while he is one big ankle injury away from his career winding down. He will get it at some point, is a matter of when

Probably not for 5/6 years if he doesn’t have to play himself into the ground every season and has a semi decent sports science and physio team around him

5/6 months at Spurs

Plus, there's the England captaincy. Can't risk that going into a world cup year.
