who scored 20 league goals after jurgen left? no one from what I recall - until Bale?
I was referring to the Sheringham Klinsmann season, though having just checked Sheringham actually only scored 18, so this session would be the guest time we’ve had two over 20 off Son gets there.

3rd highest goalscorer in the league and the 2nd most goal involvements in the league behind Kane...

Anyone criticising him doesn't know ball.
Nobody should be above criticism.
He's had a great season and can be fantastic on his day. However, it's also fair to say that when he's not in form and scoring, he doesn't actually offer much else and can be a little frustrating.

Saying things like "he's shit" is just plain daft but it could also be said that failing to see his flaws is a bit blinkered.
It doesn't have to be one extreme or another, it can be a reasoned discussion.

So is the contract signed or not?

Will the harry news put him off?

If it isn't signed then how long do we give him until he needs to be sold

Such a weird player. Some period he can score out of nothing on his own, other periods it doesn't matter what chances are given to him because he misses them anyway. So consistenly inconsistent.

Why is he getting so much stick when he didn’t even play yesterday?

Before the game I thought I would watch him as I haven’t been impressed since the turn of the year. And I tell you what, he’s not putting any effort in. He couldn’t have broken sweat in the first half. So half hearted in everything. I’d be holding off on that new contract.

Remember that game last season where Hugo was shouting at him? He needed that from the first minute. He was showing even less effort than in that game. I’d be embarrassed if I were him.

The next manager needs to have the balls to sub Son off, because he was having an absolute stinker (again) yesterday, but Bergwijn, who was having a decent game, was hooked off instead.

Same thing in the League Cup final - awful performance, maybe his worst in a Spurs shirt, but stayed on the pitch from his name alone.

I love Son, but he's not above being subbed off / undroppable.

I thought it was a turning point when Hugo shouted at Son last season. The whole team seemed to respect it and they started pulling in the same direction. I thought the Mourinho effect was working. Now we are back to players strolling around, no pressing and letting players walk past them.

I think you need a captain in the centre of the park or at centre back to stop this kind of thing happening. Hugo is too far away. Sure the players respect him, but he can’t grab someone by the neck and tell them what to do during the game.

Son has previous for this too. He was one of the players that Poch singled out when newcastle beat us 5 1 on the final day for not having the right attitude.

Absolutely agreed with every word. I feel so day going in studs up on someone who has given us such an exceptional return for goals and assists this season, but the truth is that since we beat Arsenal he’s been piss poor side from a few matches here and there. The difference is that other players in his part of the pitch get nowhere near as much patience from either the fans or, while Mourinho was here, the manager. Bale, Dele, Lucas, even Lamela, seem to always be living on one life whereas Son is teflon.

I like him, and we have far bigger problems than a guy who has scored almost a goal every other game on average, but I actually think if Harry goes, I’d be minded to sell Son as well. Basically, burn it all down and build it back up from the bottom in the image of whoever the new manager is.

He hasn't changed really in his time with us. Half the season is unbelievable, genuine world class and the other half pure Harry winks of a forward .

Probably why we need another wide forward for him to rotate with other than Lucas/Lamela/berg but some really quality

I'd offer Barca 45 mill for dembele, they'd probably bite our hands off

One of the reasons i think Gio gets a lot of hate is that Son and basically the whole front line have been so static lately, i often see Gio wanting the ball and looking up to play forward. But Son stays with his feet planted or else he runs forward, we need the front 3 to run a cross each other and also wanting the ball to feet, when our midfielders have the ball, This is where i feel Son fails the most.

He doesn't work hard enough. Maybe his Dad has gone back to South Korea or something because I cant think he would stand for it.

Like Hojbjerg, he's totally knackered.

Pieces in the papers suggest we're terribly unfit right now. Completely unprepared for the covid-ball of a season. Games every three days from September to May.

It's not rocket science that even though player might be able to run for 90 minutes with tired legs, but he lacks that clinical edge. Son's knackered, Hojbjerg's knackered, Kane's injured and knackered.

Our best players in the last few games were Bale, Dele and (maybe) Lo Celso. All three were not playing for most of the season.

We've got beaten recently by Leeds and Aston Villa that essentially played only the Premier League games.
