UEFA have now released the 'groups' for the Conference League Playoff draw. This means we now have a list of the 8 teams we could face, as we'll be drawn against an unseeded side from our own grouping. Those are:

Winners of CSKA Sofia (Bulgaria) vs Osijek (Croatia)
Winners of Paços de Ferreira (Portugal) vs Larne (Northern Ireland)
Winners of Breiðablik (Iceland) vs Aberdeen (Scotland)
Winners of FK Čukarički (Serbia) vs Hammarby (Sweden)

Note that there are no away fans permitted at any qualifying or playoff matches this season - so don't start booking the trains to Aberdeen or the Ryanair to Larne after the draw! The draw is 1pm on Monday, we'll find out the winners of the relevant tie on the 12th of August, and then our first leg will be on the 19th with the second leg on the 26th.

Not going to pretend I´ll be following the draw procedures as I am lost already with who can face whom, who might drop down from EL qualification, not even sure which qualification round is the current one, but I am starting to look forward to the competition from a Spurs POV, provided the likes of Devine, Scarlett, Paskotsi and John will be part of the competition´s squad. Rather have them train with the first squad and getting run-outs in cup competitions than randomly loan them out.

Personally I'm hoping for the winners of Breiðablik vs Aberdeen. Bit more interesting at this point to be playing another UK/Ireland team, and I think they'll get through while Larne are unfortunately huge underdogs. Only fear would be if Aberdeen fans managed to get tickets in the home end with UEFA's ridiculous decision to ban all away fans despite it being perfectly allowed and safe in some countries.

I thought Nuno had turned out for Pacos at one point but no, it was Fonseca who had managed them.

The managerial hunt still haunts and confuses me

We will have to take Pacos seriously tbf, the 5th best team in Portugal is a lot harder than quite a few of the other teams we could've got. If we want to go through we can't play a pure U23s team.

I like that we're forced to take it seriously right away.

Assuming Ferreira win that's probably the hardest draw we could have had from our grouping, but we're still heavily favoured. They came 5th in Portugal last season, the best of the rest after their big four, but a considerable 11 points behind 4th-placed Braga and 23 behind 3rd-placed Benfica. They've made a European group stage once before in 13-14 when they finished 3rd in Portugal (Lisbon had a dreadful year in mid-table, and they finished ahead of Braga by two points). On that occasion they lost a Champions League playoff 8-3 to Zenit, and then in the Europa lost home and away to Fiorentina and Dnipro and drew both games against Pandurii.

I have seen us lose to zagreb and gent, I am never confident in such knockout draws, play a strong side

They have a defender called Maracas. Gets easily rattled, apparently.

Agreed on a mostly strong side for this, but Ferreira are a decent step below both those sides in terms of European experience (almost non-existent) and quality.

Ha! Looks like ‘Lame’.

They’re gonna beat us now, aren’t they?
I'd love us to face Larne, but it'd be a gigantic shock for them to get through. They've only recently turned professional, never played in Europe before, weren't even in the top tier of Northern Irish football three years ago (they've had some decent investment by local standards) and just finished 4th in the NIFL Premiership.

So they’ve made more progress than us recently? Duly warned.
