Sounds like we struggled. How did Skipp and Hojbjerg look in midfield? Was tied up in a meeting for 1H ?
The two of them were chasing shadows, really.

We couldn't hold onto the ball. Any Chelsea pressure on players like Dier, Doherty, Alli and we'd just turn the ball over. Not that the rest of the team looked any great shakes, either.

Useful wakeup call and not worth reading into too much really, other than the obvious that we need upgrades in a few positions (CB, RB).

Tony ‘Own Goal’ Gardner

Hah
He didn’t cost £24m
Never mind £30m Sissoko who’s first touch is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. His ability to hide in midfield means we play 10 men everytime he’s on. Any really he gives the oppo an extra man as he basically gives the ball back everytime he gets it.
Doherty poor.
Winks coward.

Every club will have their peak clowns but this Spurs team right now has some very average ‘can’t even give them away’ players.
We are not close to Chelsea right now

Dele is not, never has been, and never will be capable of playing CM at the top level. The mere fact of Nuno having tried it makes me question his judgment.

if he repeats it I will agree with you but guess he has to see it for himself

I'm sorry guys but I can't stomach another season of watching Sissoko, Davies, Winks, Doherty, Dier and Sanchez.

we are absolutely FUCKED this year if that's our squad

At least 4 or 5 of those players are likely leaving, though.

The team isn’t good enough to create a system specifically to carry a player like Dele. He should have been on loan at PSG last January and hopefully they would have bought him this summer. Moronic move by levy to not allow thag move
Dele isn’t good enough to be playing for us letalone PSG. His ability as a footballer has completely fallen off a cliff.

Desperately need a midfield maestro or power player regardless of whether Ndombele or Lo Celso are actually going to be fit and feature. I vote Aouer (however you spell it) , Pjanic or Sanches

Regardless of the fact that co-commentator works for Chelsea TV he still definitely deserves to be set on fire.

I know we sucks and this is ChelseaTV, but perhaps the presenters on interviews should still be abit more polite especially this is a pre-season? Totally less than complementary - all discussions on chelscum ?

he will do a lot better than any of the 3 out there

it’s just so disjointed. The formation really doesn’t work with average players esp vs a good team.
Absolute disgrace that one of them cost £60m!!!
I thought it was all on Jose but early NES looks very similar to rudderless end of season Spurs

We are absolutely crying out for at least one proper top quality central midfielder.

Also I do wish people would stop talking about players that we haven't signed yet like they are sitting there waiting to play, it's still not definite we're getting Romero or Tomiyasu.

Still don't think it's worth reading too much into this too much at all. After all it's just pre-season and our lineup is a bit of a jumble.

Romero and Tomiyasu would be astronomical upgrades at RB/CB, while the inclusion of Lo Celso and/or Ndombele would massively benefit us creatively and in possession.

Oh, and that Kane fella might help a bit.

My main takeaway for me is the simple reminder that Dele always has, and always will, look bad when he's constantly dropping deep like this.
I hear all that, but the sheer scale of what we need to do in a couple of weeks is frightening. This rebuild is going to take 2/3 windows really as the list of deadwood is too much to float this season surely now?
