So I think...

Gollini

Doherty Romero Rodon Davies

Sissoko Winks GLC

Gil Scarlett Sessegnon
Probably something like that. Maybe Lo Celso on right wing, John in CM, Gil left wing and Sess as LB or sub. Maybe a start for Clarke.

Based on that:

Gollini
CCV Romero Davies
Doherty Winks John Sessegnon
Lo Celso Gil
Scarlett

Lloris Dier Tanganga Reguilón Skipp Dele Lucas Bergwijn Son
Not sure it’s the right thing to do, I’d rather be in the competition than not, but equally the only prize for this is a place in Europa anyway which we should be able to do domestically at a minimum so I get it.

I would assume the squad that is there will play "not to lose", and if a stronger squad is needed at home next week, it will be available.

I assume Nuno, Paratici, and Levy see this as a opportunity to win a trophy this season - perhaps our best chance. So, I don't think they are trying not to advance.

Havent expected that tbh. Hope the lads can do it.

Really curious now about the whole squad that travelled.

Why? We are still early in the season and if we want Gil and Romero soon having an understanding with the starters they actually need to play with them. I think a good mixture will do.
I think the less overplayed we are now the better it will serve us at the end of the season

Chemistry will come as the season goes on but ideally we want to be at peak form come end of the season

Every season we kind of stutter near the end of the season and I think the group stages takes a lot out of us

I know he hasn't played a 3 ATB much since he's been here but I'm a rebel, so...

Romero - Rodon - Davies
Doherty ------------------------------------ Sessegnon
Winks - John
Lo Celso ----------------- Bryan Gil
Scarlett

Attaaaaaaaaaack.

I think they’ll play very similarly to the team that played on Sunday. This is a fitness builder for established first team squad members but also an opportunity for some players to put a marker down. I think we’ll win.

If they approach this game with the same intensity and energy that we did on Sunday, I have no doubt we'll win. Also, you can imagine that many of the youth players saw the impact that Tanganga had on Sunday and thought to themselves " If I get the chance, I need to put in a shift like he did". Here's their opportunity to do so.

I find the boldness of this very exciting and wouldn’t have happened under Mourinho, he would have gone strong to secure qualification - but we wouldn’t have played with that intensity on Sunday under him.
I expected this tournament to be a useful vehicle to keep squad players fit and give youth their chance but not until the group stage. Brilliant strong squad management from Nuno - I’m really liking him so far. It’s a gamble but one I’m glad we’re taking.

Don't get how Markanday is overlooked here.
Would have expected Fagan Walcott also. Maybe they havent been on any video material yet.

Edit: Also expect Devine there
