Not surprised he’s hard to shift. He might fit into a league like MLS but on his wages he’d be the fourth-highest paid player. I can’t see him performing like the fourth-highest paid player in that league and he doesn’t have the star power a lot of the big money signings have.

It’s astonishing how far he’s fallen really. He was never a brilliant player in the first place, but when you think back to that decent season he had a few years ago, to how he has played in the last 18 months it’s a stark contrast. He was always limited technically, but at times last season I genuinely wondered how and why he became a professional footballer, he seemed terrified of having the ball, passing the ball, at times even going near the ball. Maybe Mourinho sucked all his confidence out of him, but I can’t see any serious club taking him off our hands.

This could work well, as it allows him to stay in a top league rather than one of them crappy M.E. leagues, it might be something that will bode with him being in the PL and he'll probably get decent game time too... and Danny wont need to google him ... ba dum tshhhhh
