We all know how this story ends.
Levy keeps Nuno in charge and continue to look as poor as we have all season. We have one good result in the next two league games that is a false dawn. There’s chat after the game a corner has been turned, just like after City when the “maybe Sanchez and Dier are good enough” narrative came out despite the overwhelming proof to the contrary.
By the time Nuno is let go, just as the January window opens, we are adrift of the top 6 and Levy decides Mason till the end of the season is the answer. We sign no one in January as we get one or two “new (old) manager bounce” games before turning back into a pumpkin shortly after February 1st.
Partly tongue in cheek, but it’s depressing that I think this is exactly how it could easily play out.
