I do wonder what hold up is this window. Conte and Paratici have both mentioned the squad not being at the required level, and yet, we see no movement. There are currently bargains to be had due to contracts, players that would improve us, and still no movement from us. It does seem like we are holding back in case we are forced to move for our top target, DV. Therfore £10million here, £12million there, £5million etc all adds up to the significant amount for one top player. I know there has been talk of the shares and cash coming in, but surely, if we wanted to, we could pull the trigger for Kessie/De Vrij/Traore/Dybala etc etc?

I've no doubt you've been responded to already.

But even if players have dwindling down contracts & are open to a move, there still needs to be a willingness for their clubs to sell them.

As many have pointed out previously. Getting (for example) £20M for a player may not be as valuable to a club than achieving Champions League football, which X players ability may be key to.

I'm as desperate as Conte, Paratici & everyone on here for some improvements to the oh so stale squad. But unless a club is willing to sell, our hands are kind of tied.

And sure, someone is going to say "well, just make an offer that's too good to turn down". But what if that affects future, even better transfer options?

ITK has been (mostly) positive, in regards to the fact that things are being worked on. Heck, the one that most on here treat as gospel has even come in to say Conte is happy.

We also seem to have forgotten that we're still very much dealing with the loss of revenue from having no supporters due to the pandemic.

Though we've heard that the club is actively seeking outside investment. Whether that's successful remains to be seen, but it is a positive nonetheless.

For some reason I'm unbelievably relaxed about the whole situation & genuinely believe we'll bring someone in as soon as we know a club is willing to sell.

And most importantly, for once, it appears we're only going to be signing the right player, not the squad fillers & unbelievable wastes of money that our last few years have seen us buy.

Sorry for the long post. Peeps just need to chill.

I'll have you know that Aldi crumpets are only 25p and would pass the taste test any day :D

I'd say it's more Adidas versus Aribas, or 3 stripes versus 5 stripes (for anyone whose mum would clothes shop on market day)
Fake pumas from Bodmin market always did a job

To counter.....When we employed Paratici, Ali Gold commented on more than one occasion that his MO was to line up to 10 players for one position before pulling the trigger on the one they wanted.
If he is still using the same tactic, you'd think we would have had substantial links to at least a few players.
At the moment it's a lot of players we've been linked to previously.
Anyway, I guess as long as Conte isn't concerned, then I have no reason to be.

Wasn't it that Romario **** who said that shit?

Darling Fabio was busy Spinning plates & building a monumental phone bill.

Was that from Ali, or was that from disgraced former SC poster Romario?

BUT ALSO my point is still completely valid. You won’t know everything, even with the snippets we are ultimately “allowed” to hear via the sources we have here.

Ah shit!

Might be a bit easier if we could shift a couple of current 'squad fillers' mate.

Scamacca looks insane tbh.

DV is just a poor mans Scamacca.

Has ITK linked us with him? (genuine question).

Until I just watched a 4 minute YouTube clip, I thought you were all talking about a new Volkswagen or something.

Looks like a strong lad with good skills. Though, judging from the clip I just saw. If Deles flicks wind you up, I can't wait for match threads if this guy was bought.

Yes, we’ve previously had ITK that he’s a player of interest but I’m sure he only moved to his current club last summer? They’re also notorious for holding out for good fees, he’s therefore not going to be cheap.

Correction - he was out on loan and returned to his parent club in the summer.

Need to sell before we buy, now there's a surprise. This is despite not replacing Bale or Vinicius as well.

Plus ca change.

Oh dear - we obviously haven't got enough funds in play to pay for Jermaine Defoe let alone DV. One in one out suggests most of our work, if any, will be at the end of the window
Thats ok. We'll just call off every game until then (y)

I love how Fab can spin that he has no new information into "new information." I'm pretty sure he said the same things last week in some interview. This will undoubtedly cause a mini meltdown, even though we all knew this already. Fuel for the doom merchants.

I choose to disbelieve the ‘need to sell before buying’ story. I think we’ve funds put aside for Conte, regardless of the media stuff. Just my opinion based upon reasoning.
