Think people need to calm down. We weren’t fixing our issues in one window, Conte isn’t dumb and knows that. It’s going to make the summer that much more important (and difficult), but there’s nothing to say we can’t get 3 more in to at least give some more options, albeit maybe one really weird/lame one in Amrabat.

I know that this has been repeated over and over, but the problem with "all about next season" is that if we don't have get cl, then how are we going to attract quality players in the summer when we're not even close to getting them now?

And if we don't get top 4, what's the betting that is the reason the budget becomes tight and its groundhog day.
Who would you get then, and not least, how would you get them? There are three (or even four counting the agent) parties involved in a transfer, and they all have to be on board.

Our managerial debacle should have prepared us for this...

1 - have a great manager wanting to join
2 - opt for a cheaper version
3 - this messes up our season and causes greater toxicity in team and fan base
4 - have to cave in and get great manager
5 - fail to back great manager? TBC

We REALLY make it difficult for ourselves especially in a league where no one is going to do us any favours...

Even Villa making smarter moves in the market whereas we scrabbling around last minute and hoping for the equivalent of a lottery win that an amazing player wants us and their club will flog on the cheap.

To dare is to do? Yeah right...

And keeping Ndombele, GLC and Alli makes any difference to that when not being used anyway

Does Paratici work full time? Genuine question.

If he does, he's had 8 hours per day, 5 days per week from September - December to get in a good position to maximise our dealings in the Jan transfer window.

A loan for Amrabat and Traore is the potential result of all that work. wow.

For midfield? Bentancur, Arthur Melo, Guimares, Renato Sanches, Haidara, Boubacar Kamara, Wijnaldum, Ascacibar, Zakaria?

Dont worry guys, lessons have been learned

I understand deals in Jan can be hard, its just frustrating that it feels like weve been going round in circles for years when it comes to transfers

I see the unfavourable, selective, reality of "back the manager" is in full on paradox mode now.

Not so fun when it's not being used to criticise the club, huh?

Love the ‘January is difficult’ line. We’ve been told how Juventus are broke but yet can find £70m in January to sign a player they know will improve them Immediately. All comes down to ambition. Signing 2 players who’ve spent half a season on the bench from midtable sides appears to be our level.

Even if we bought nobody in, I still want GLC, tanguy and dele to leave, give white and some younger ones who will try a go

Which PL clubs have done incoming business?
Villa - Coutinho & Digne (two first team additions)

Everton - two first team full backs and El Ghazi for squad depth.

Newcastle - Wood & Trippier (two first team additions)

Watford - signed 4 players. Haven't a clue whether they're decent or not.

Wolves - two additions

The above clubs are those that have either hired new managers and got some signings in early or those who are in a position where they need to strengthen as they're light on numbers or battling relegation.

Just because City, Lpool or Chelsea haven't strengthened doesn't mean we shouldn't. Top three is pretty much nailed on for all of them and they're likely happy to wait it out until Summer.

United - interim manager and would be foolish to strengthen until they bring in a new manager.

Arsenal - they're clearing out already and likey to make moves but they've done something we haven't - is get rid.

Whereas, we are fighting for top 4. There's a decent chance for us to get it if we strengthened with quality additions. Not stop gaps until the summer.
