Villa fans seem happy.

Not only have we apparently reacted to the Diaz incident by poaching one of their key targets, but we're also after the guy (Luiz) that they were looking to replace
I liked this one:

Made me chuckle

“Wow, If Spurs are preparing a bid of £32m, imagine how much he must be worth!”

They take the piss out of us for being in the Europa Conference League, but when was the last time they featured in Europe? They're acting like they're nailed on for CL or something. Guess that Brummies for you.

They are a funny bunch. The bright lights of Birmingham and all that….

I rate this player a lot. Physical, hardworking, shows for the ball, good first touch, passes it forward. Plus, I always love a South American who can wind up opponents.

However, he seems very similar to what we’ve already got in Hojbjerg and Skipp. Maybe that’s good squad planning, but I would’ve liked to see us go for someone who can offer something a little different.

Think he has more vision/passing range than those two, more of a deep lying playmaker, also two-footed. I may be wrong though.

Of all the online fan bases the highest levels of delusion I've seen have seen over the years have been on Villa Talk. There just seems to be a small subsection of their fans that unironically think Villa are the greatest club in England and are mere moments from taking their crown back.

It's both hilarious and genuinely a bit embarrassing. Like when a kid's dad truly believes their sprog is the next Hendrix and all excitedly forces them to perform for you...except all they can do is play Smoke on the Water out of time.

So if we are playing a 343 it's
Hojbjerg or Skipp with
Bentacur or Winks?

I haven't watched Bentacur, so I'm hoping he can help us get some control in CM with the other player breaking forward more.

Nothing wrong with those highlights. He's happier using his left foot than Winks, Skipp or PEH, which helps continuity.

His positioning stood out for me. He was always showing for the ball, hopefully he can do it in the PL which is more combative in the middle of the park. Looks like he's got quick feet though and keeps the ball moving.
