Watched again on motd. We were so disciplined. Everyone played an important part in that win. And, for once, I’m more than happy to have a nibble of humble pie - I thought we were gonna get turned over. Sometimes it’s good to be proved wrong. Awesome victory

For all the people coming in and only saying we don't win with Winks or Sanchez playing, this is what I mentioned earlier.

You could have come in and mentioned how well the defence was, or how Hojbjerg and Bentancur looked solid with still getting the same point across with out looking like your just coming in here to slag off the players you do every game...
Spot on.

I actually thought that during the game the general atmosphere was a bit better than usual though but the real test of your warning will come when we lose.

Didn’t realise it was only the second time Dier and Romero have played together all season!
Could be our route to the top four , both fit and playing together in a back three with Ben on the left we have no other left sided CB option other than Ben. For all the criticism that Dier gets without him against Saints & Wolves our defence was not great and Antonio has been pretty loud in support of Dier.

It’s over the top, isn’t it? This is what happens when we become a surveillance based society- we think everything needs explaining and condemning based on the slightest perceived transgression. Couple that with the narcissistic inducing qualities of social media and there’s always a victim somewhere, there’s always a binary needing to be found
Someones started a thread on him, demanding he never referees one of our matches again...

Today's incredible performance and result has led me to believe I have spent my entire life supporting the craziest football team in the country. Three consecutive losses playing absolute horse shit, with a trip to the best team in Europe who are on a vicious winning streak...and we've 'Leicestered' them!

Where the fuck did that come from?

What a performance! What a performance from our defence and especially from Kane, the world master. Hand on heart, if anyone put money on us winning there today, I take my hat off to you, and hope you enjoy your winnings!

What amazing heart we had today. NEVER gave up. Dier and Romero at the back were just ridiculous.

(We'll probably get done away to Burnley Wednesday now) :) (y)

You're not the only one. I could see a real hiding on the cards.

My only regret is that I don't know any West Ham fans...

Bit flummoxed that Son, Romero and especially Lloris being smacked Down by our fans not being world class. Bizarre.

World Class is a bit arbitrary and hard to define. Everyone has their own interpretation of it. For me it is being in the top five in the world in your position. Any broader interpretation and I feel that world class is diluted somewhat.

What you can take from this game, and our games prior is that our squad is very poor and our best 11 is pretty good.2 or 3 missing and we're in trouble. Bentancur and Kulu have improved us as well. You put Sanchez and Winks in the starting 11 its a disaster. Whats annoying is we as fans have known that for years.
Had Reggie played that was us full strength imo.

I agree and think this is now our strongest line up. With Kane dropping in between the lines and Son running into space.

Lloris
Romero --- Dier --- Davies
Royal -----Højbjerg --- Bentancur -----Reguilon
Kulusevski -----Son
Kane
Sanchez is an able deputy at RCB (only alongside Dier). And Skipp arguably pushing for a start in CM when fit.

If we can sign better WBs (L and R), another experienced ball playing CB to challenge at LCB, upgrade Winks, sign back up for Kane, and upgrade one of Moura and Bergwijn, we'll have really good options all over the pitch.

Although I have no problem with the decisions today, I thought the officiating was fine and can't argue with the VAR calls but this doesn't look good.

Yep I noticed this at the time.

If we're being extremely fair to Pawson his grimace might be because Pep and his team had been railing at him about having Romero sent off for a second yellow after the penalty handball. He could be thinking "Oh fuck now the bald fraud's going to have a right old moan..." :shifty:

Just watching back what stands out is how much better we were at playing through the press. Betancur is so composed in possession, PEH had his best game in ages

Was just thinking - yesterday was not that much different than Jose's approach / tactics against Man C, which was equally successful (2 x 2-0 wins)
