They did get to the final. And in a cup tie there’s no point sitting back and clinging on for respectability once you are 2-nil down.

FT 5-3 win.
A great comeback from the boys who were 2-0 down after 11 minutes. No idea if this was a weakened west ham side but given the table positions of the two clubs I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.
