Makes the least sense to me unless we've offered something ridiculous like £150m for the pair.
Why the fuck not. We've been through austerity, we're rich as fuck. 150m plus CL plus sales. We're getting them both. I would just like to say for the first and last time ever, thank you to Chelsea and Lukaku.

Not necessarily saying we shouldn't do it, just that it won't happen unless we do with the Lukaku situation.

That's the, key how much do they want Lukaku. If we do the deal that'll ease their financial woes for a while aswell

So confused is this off again?

I think judging by the ITK that things are actually looking good, it's one article that suggests a possibility of looking into Torres and I'd say that that is not concrete enough evidence to suggest that Bastoni isn't happening.

My money would be on Bastoni happening personally but we shall see, sounds like an exciting couple of weeks :D

I think it's more that Chelsea can effectively pay far far less than us if they can offer Lukaku on loan for a couple of years. The knock on effect of that is also that the price for Bastoni goes up because there's less need to sell.

I might of jumped the gun, but for those 2 minutes it was magical

Also, all this fear about Lukaku going to Inter and ruining our deal for Bastoni assumes that Lautaro will definitely be sold in that case. He has been unequivocal about his desire to stay at Inter next season, much more so than what we've seen from Bastoni.

If chelsea were to get Martinez they’d 100% want to knock the money off they owe for lukaku and do a deal that way but it would not benefit inter
Chelsea don’t owe Inter money for Lukaku. Inter are believed to have sold that debt to a third party.

But the 3rd party who bought the debt from Inter will need that paying, I assume from Chelsea? It still looks to me like Chelsea have to pay someone £100m and to top it all are going to loan Lukaku back to Inter. So they're stuck with a bill of £100m and the player loaned out. They're taking one hell of a hit over this. Stinks to me.

Inter has to sell one of these players this summer.

Skriniar last week: “I’d love to do something similar to what Marek Hamsik did at Napoli. My future is at Inter, I have a contract and nothing has changed,” “There are transfer rumours every six months, but there’s nothing specific. I am very satisfied at Inter.”

Martinez last week: “My plan is clear: I really want to stay at Inter next season”. “I’ve not received communications from the club as of today, I want to continue at Inter next season”.

Bastoni today: “I have two years of my contract with Inter, so I am relaxed. The club hasn’t told me anything, I am just waiting to go on vacation after this and then start pre-season with Inter.”

Bastoni doesn’t feel quite as emphatic, nothing about next season, just holiday and start pre season. There’s no way he wants to look like the villain here as an Inter fan, who I’m sure returns to the San Siro either as a player or fan in future. Think this gets done in the next few weeks barring any movement with Martinez and Skriniar. PSG reported to be sniffing around Skriniar today.

Where is this assumption coming from that Lautaro would jump at the chance to leave Inter for Chelsea? Or even be willing to? Just last week he said: "My plan is clear: I really want to stay at Inter next season. I’ve not received communications from the club as of today, I want to continue at Inter next season."

He signed a new contract just 6 months ago.

I know it doesn't help us, but surely inter fans would prefer getting dybala and Lukaku in with Martinez out, if they can keep Bastoni. Just better for their squad structure imo.

Inter fans don't get to decide. They can't sell a player against their will. Bastoni seems to be open to a move away, Martinez doesn't.

Maybe I should have said inter board and supporters.

In terms of players, money talks. I am sure all players can be persuaded to leave for the right money.
