As always, the downfall of other clubs is never as drastic or dire as people think on here.

These are really smart billionaires we're talking about. If they want to do something they find a way.

If Inter are able to get Lukaku on loan, Bastoni is dead IMO.

But Inter need to make 60 million profit, how are they going to get Bremer, the other CB they're looking at, the RB they're looking at, replace Perisic, sign Dybala, Loan Lukaku all for the mere price of selling Martinez? Do Chelsea have the money to cover all of that whilst they simultaneously need to replace 2 CB's, possible another 2 defenders leaving and sort their midfield out. Doesn't seem realistic to me that Inter only have to sell Martinez considering if they're getting Lukaku on loan in return then they need to offer Chelsea a discount.

I've been thinking similar myself. I think there's potentially a situation where Inter sell both Bastoni and Lautaro (as much as Inter fans would hate to see that). After all last summer saw two big exits in Hakimi and Lukaku.

Real Madrid have a ton of cash, PSG maybe, Bayern could be looking for a new striker...

I have a hard time believing Martinez is willing to join Spurs to not start for probably half the games.

Conte has said multiple times Deki can play RWB. There's the solution right there.

I'm referring to you saying that the Bastoni deal will be dead though, not Martinez

Point still stands though, why sell to us for the same price if you can get Lukaku in return from Chelsea? Only way it would happen is if we made a much higher offer for Martinez to test both Chelsea/Inter resolve.

I don't see any alternative for them, I think getting Dybala for free and selling Martinez is extremely smart considering the situation they're in. I think them chasing Lukaku on the other hand is not, I think they forget how much Conte was holding his hand.

If they need cash that desperately, I could see them doing that for a complete squad overhaul while making plenty of money

As per my original response, I don't see how that would cover all they need to achieve.
I don't know but I'm not convinced at all that its probably as drastic as everyone says it is, or that they can't do some accounting trick and figure out a way to make it all work.

We're getting them both. Moratta and Patrici cooking.
It can only be a matinez-bastoni- chicken badge carbonarra. Fuck we're getting them both.

Makes the least sense to me unless we've offered something ridiculous like £150m for the pair.

(assuming I read this right as could chelsea/inter do a martinez/Lukaku swap and accountants make that = +50m for inter)? No. As a) inter sold the debt and b) only chelski were that ambivalent to basic maths..

I was worried more that bringing bremner for say 30, sell de vreij and dumfries for say 60m combined = OK. But that still leaves a 30m hole before you have to replace perisic and dumfries. So have talked myself off the ledge. So back to some youtoob on bastoni it is!
