I know this is going to sound really petty but i dont want him for the sole reason that during our Home match against them the commentators alluded to the fact that at times he was hiding behind his hands, unable to look at the game because the pressure was getting too much. I fear what watching Sanchez, Lloris and Dier on a weekly basis would do to the mans health if this is the case!

Amorim first job at Braga - he was the 3rd manager appointed that season. In Jan-Feb of season, Braga had to play Porto Benfica Sporting all twice, and he won 5 of them, drawing other in process winning League cup. I think he does well under pressure.

If I am not wrong, Klopp never looks on when his team is taking penalties. Even Great managers do have wierd mannerisms. I think we should judge only on results.

Why the fuck is Mason even on this list. More baffling is people have voted for him.
Plus Potter's on the list despite having just signed a 5-year contract with Chelsea, and Frank is on the list despite playing a passive back-5-and-lump-it system.

If/when Conte goes, and if Levy is still in charge, it will be Pochettino. If Levy isn't in charge in whatever way that happens then it's impossible to make an educated guess until we know who is.

It's all 100% meh.

But his football isnt pretty and yet again a large proportion of this fanbase are obsessed with style over glory.

If Poch was set up to fail - can anyone explain how Daniel Levy would somehow have changed that he would now back him?
Because the stadium is built now, it would be a little different this time. It wasn’t anything personal against Poch.

Poch wanted Mane. Saints wanted 35m. Levy diddled , Liverpool got him. Same window on deadline day he got Sissoko panic buy for 30m.

Its not the money , its how Levy mind thinks when it comes to transfer. Guy still only looks at player trading as accounting thing instead of paying slightly higher for a higher quality player.

Has that changed since Poch left ? I doubt it

Conte has his faults but if we don't back him and support him i cant see anyone else improving us, our back 4/5 is terrible we have no creativity in midfliend we have a collection of wingbacks and fullbacks no one else would want, 5 left backs/wing backs if you inc ben, Right side we are at 3 currently with one more on the way!

our recruitment is the issue not the manager!
He’s had money. We’re lead to believe that, apart from Spence, he’s sanctioned maybe driven each buy recently. I don’t get why Conte is devoid of recruitment criticism. These players are bought to play his system. How do you fit a creative player into a central 2 that will often come up against 3? You don’t. Bentancur is as creative as you can hope for.

That isn’t anything specific about Poch being set up to fail. This things have happened to every manager and also happen at other clubs.

Poch wasnt backed for 2 windows is a one off that may never happen.
But fundamentally, its the player recruitment the problem for Poch. People he asked for was never given. May be 1 player a window he asked - but overall Levy failed him.

Nothing has changed in that aspect

Changing managers and keeping the same players is madness

And if the plan is to change managers it should have been done over the WC break to give the new manager a chance at rebuilding in January.

And it would be insane that this would be the 4th consecutive year we ended with a different manager than we started. That is the sign of a poorly run club, where the manager is the least of the problems.

Give me consistency and stability over the constant chaos of change - that, by the way, hasn’t worked.
Agree. Conte keeps telling us we need patience. Instead we’re (understandably) frustrated and tearing the club down, rather than being frustrated and trusting that things don’t happen overnight.

A lot of what i heard ahead of the derby was that Arsenal are in year 3 of their cycle and things are clicking, despite being almost a joke in recent years.

If we show some patience, that can be us. Conte and the board should come out and lay the plan on the table for us, that would help, and conte should sign the contract - he’ll walk if he doesn’t like it anyway, so use the leverage to get the plan out there and then just sign the thing.

Let’s not force Conte, and frankly the players (you think Kane enjoys playing in front of us at the moment?) out of our club when it’s in it’s most fragile part of a new cycle.

Yeah, i agree with you that he wasn’t backed in that regard, but my point is that that was a different time and not a Poch specific thing. Either every manager had that, or things have changed a little now, in which case they’ll be a bit different for him if he came back. Even towards the end, you could see him being more backed with Lo Celso and Tanguay.

He spent about £150m in the last window he had....
Agree.. that’s kind of my point. He wasn’t backed through a unique period of stadium-induced austerity. But he did start to be after we came out of that. So i don’t think it was a personal non-backing of Poch that would prevent him from returning.
