If we go for a project coach, I'd like Thomas Frank. I think he has the personality, energy and charisma to succeed here long-term.

If we go for another 'win now' coach (not my preference), it's hard to look past Tuchel.

Poch would be a step backward in my opinion; a sentimental appointment that comes with too much baggage. Love him though.

Thomas Franks personality would fit our club nicely and he can work a project without a huge budget but his football isn’t that easy on the eye imo so not so keen on that.

Yes, I wonder if his football is more pragmatic because of resources and the players he has. I think Brentford were more expansive in the Championship, with Watkins and Benrahma? Not sure. I think as a person he's a great fit.

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Thomas Frank, Tuchel, De Zerbi, and Enrique woild be great appointments. All have coached and demonstrated an effective high press in the last year (something we need badly). I’m sure Amorim would be in the hat and I’d need to watch more of Sporting. I don’t want Poch, he’s been tactically useless since his final year at Spurs.

I remember listening to a podcast where a French journalist was reporting how the PSG hierarchy (Leonardo I guess) were alarmed at Poch's tactical naivety.

Glad someone else pointed this out!

Yeah. Poch was a bit of a revelation in a league that had coaches like Allardyce, Bruce, Pulls, Monk, Koeman, Hughes,a past his best Mourinho, Pellegrini, etc. His style stood out and those coaches weren't really able to adapt to that.

As soon as Klopp got things going and the likes of Potter, and other press minded coaches started to become widespread, Poch started to struggle.

Must admit, if/when Conte leaves, just feel I'd have very little interest in who the manager is. After so long under ENIC, I don't believe we'll ever build anything on the pitch under them regardless of who the manager is. It could be Poch, Klopp, Pep, Tuchel or whoever, under ENIC the best I see is a couple of years where we may punch above our weight and look good before we drop off, manager gets frustrated and eventually leaves and we are back to square one.

Winning silverware or even just competing/being in with a shout for it most years is a nice to have not a necessity for ENIC imo. Always felt challenging/getting into the top 4 is what they are all about and in their minds that will be enough to keep most fans happy alongside playing entertaining football.

Still slight glimmer of hope they back Conte with funds.

If not it means the club will never win another trophy under their tenure. So the sooner they go, the better.

They've blown it.

De zerbi at Brighton is looking like another very astute signing at Brighton. He has them playing wonderful football.

Because everyone is on the same track at the club.

The philosophy and recruitment.

If he goes, they will pick someone else up who will continue it, and continue to sign clever players.

The same goes for Brentford when Frank leaves.
