Utter utter madness!

Utter madness is going via this Mourinho, Conte (Santini, Ramos etc.) route despite it's obvious flaws. But it seems 1) club has no plans to ditch deeply faulted recruitment strategy, 2) Levy has seemingly sold it to hordes as what is on CV seems to be more important than what is happening on pitch.

Off topic but I don't think Foyth was a bad buy for the price we paid. Sanchez on the other hand...
That's half the issue, buying players because they are a "value deal" instead of buying the right player fir the right position. We have three right backs, none currently of the standard required.
Lenglet on loan , again value to be had, my hole, he failed badly at Barca and is not good enough.
Patrici was brought in by Levy as he is a master of near out of contract cheap deals, again a path that will not always lead to right player for right position.
Everything leads back to poor decisions at board level, everything

So apparently he stated in the presser that he will decide about resigning or not in the summer.

That doesn't help him IMO.

That makes me want to twist rather than stick....
Did anyone actually hear him say that. Everyone considers their future even our own Harry non smiling Kane.

So you need world class manager just to concede most in PL (last 10) on this material? World class in what? Messing up the game? You can put a fucking Tony Pulis on helm and we wouldn't concede more than that. If manager is devoid of any blame on what is going on pitch, why are we paying him a penny. Just hire a hobo for a pint if the role is irrelevant.
We pay him because we'd likely be even further down the table.

On Conte saying he can’t play a back 4 with this team, I don’t agree and feel he is being a bit stubborn.

Maybe he knows better than all of us but occasionally some managers are a bit stubborn.

I think a possession based 4-2-3-1 like this could work just as well if not better than the 3-4-3:

—————————-Lloris—————————

-Emerson—-Romero—Lenglet—Davies

——————Bissouma——Bentancur——

——-Richarlison——-Kulu——Son———

——————————Kane————————

That gets all our best players on the pitch.

Emerson is playing in his best position

Romero played in a back 4 for Argentina

Lenglet has played in a back 4 for Barca

Davies is a LB

Bissouma in a holding role in a midfield 3 possession game would boss games like he did for Brighton

Bentancur is class anywhere in any system

Richy can do a job at RW

Kuku can create from n.o10 and the front 4 can be fluid, Kane can drop off and Richy can run behind and Kulu can go wide right so plenty of flexibility

Son LAM in his best position

Kane up top with better service

We can play a mid block with this, possession style game and use quick transitions with richy and son when needed.

I actually think this would suit is really well and this line up is just a GK and Top LB and CB away from being a really good team.
Fans keep coming up with these ideas of moving to a back four. You're right Lenglet played in a 4 at Barca but don't you realise that he is now with us because he wasn't good enough in a back 4. If do go 4 at the back do you honestly trust Davies/Sess Royal/Doherty and 1 of Dier, Sanchez, Tanganga or Lenglet to somehow suddenly stop making mistakes and become a solid defender?

Richy doesn't want to play on the right either, he doesn't even look comfortable there any time we put him there.

As long as Dier is a staple in our defence it will never be up to standard.
He is and always will be a ball watcher.
So many players run past him on the blindside it would give Paula Radcliff nightmares.
They say that the best defenders can make up for the lack of pace by their reading of the play, well Eric is as slow of mind as he is of foot.
Longlet and Davies are equally slow but better defenders or readers of the game.

Although ideally none of those three should be near the team.

Having said that, investing in a defence without changing this concede possession and play on the break rubbish will lead to minimal improvement.

You look at the top teams in possession and when they have a player on the ball in defence or midfield they can have 3-4 options even in tight games.
Our players are lucky if there's one option. The players just run away from the player on the ball.
We need technical players in the key positions that can pass on the move and rotate, moving teams around popping the ball first time and not just coughing up possession because they can hear someone on the pitch with them or playing hot potato, with zero awareness.

In short before looking at the defensive remodel we need players that can take better care of the ball and use it with purpose. (unlike, Hojbjerg, Son, Sessingnon, Royal to name a few)

Agree, a ch or two and keeper will be immediate improvement and dier needs to go, perhaps a squad player when others injured, but nowhere near good enough to be starting on a regular basis.
Bentantcur always looks for the ball, does not hide, where as Peh points , goes backways or sideways almost every time, would like to see Bissouma get a run , nothing to lose at this stage, but undoubtedly another quality technical player needed, oh for a Bernardo Silva type.

I worry greatly about some people's thought processes.
As a former BSoDL I would say with confidence that he is wholly responsible for us not improving on the pitch and see that as being the only possible conclusion.
Conte wants said player, Levy should get said player or at least use everything at his disposal to get the player.
Who the fuck wanted Spence, clearly not Conte.

Yes yes yes, you've nearly got it..... So what difference does it make to change the fucking manager until those making the decisions are gone?

None whatsoever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So you want him to publicly complain about Dier?
I wonder if the posters who complain about Conte saying nice things publicly about his players are the same ones that complained about Mourinho throwing them under the bus?

"Conte Out! He said Dier is good! Dier is rubbish!"
"Mourinho Out! He said Dier is shit! How's that going to help his fragile confidence?"

Has a whiff of 'you're not my real dad' about it to me.

13:51 - Prosecutor Chiné has asked for 9 penalty points for Juventus, as well as 16 months of inhibition for Agnelli, 20 months and 10 days for Paratici, 10 months for Cherubini, 12 months for all the other directors. However, the Court of Appeal will still have to decide whether to reopen the trial. If so, it will decide on the sanctions required by the federal prosecutor's office. For the other 8 clubs and their respective managers, the prosecutor Chiné has asked for fines.
