Race for 4th is everything that is wrong with this club at the moment

good style of football - no

Long term plan - no

Look to win trophies - no

Properly back the manager - no

Try and Bludgeon our way to 4th place - yes

At the very least I’d like to enjoy watching us again. Can we start there.

I'll call it now, Liverpool and Chelsea will finish above us this year.

We are absolutely rudderless, no obvious game plan, no cohesion, no camaraderie, no fight, no leader, lack quality in key areas.... basically a lot needs to change!!

Yeah Liverpool are back sadly. I think in terms of predictions we'll lose grip of 4th and change manager again. It just feels inevitable.

No chance literally zilch we get top 4
Who cares anyway ?? ... we are not good enough for the CL... and I would rather go back to basics now and try to win a domestic cup to at least get some feeling inside the club that we are able to do it...

We are hovering in no man's land...

This.

The whole qualifying for the champions league thing is boring now.

I get that, but tbf we bottle it anytime we get a top team in the cups. And the top teams are always a winning the cup’s particularly city Chelsea Liverpool etc.

I can see liverpool, but chelsea? You make it sound like we've not won a game in 3, or 4.

Total overreaction.

As long as we don't act like a top club, we should prioritize differently... what's the point of top 4, when you don't use it as a weapon to get better. ?

Then I would rather play the strongest 11 against Sheff U instead of Wolves.

Great post. Champions league needs to change to just having the champions. The clubs ambition of trying to sneak in to the tournament in not even a medal position, is becoming disrespectful to the fans and football as a competitive sport.

I actually think we’ll be fine once we inevitably exit the CL this week and can play an unchanged XI once a week. Considering Conte struggles to select a rotated side and make effective subs. We’ve been at our best under Conte whenever we’ve had continuity in the first XI - it’s such a delicate system to just throw players into.

..and not with players like Kane because they quite simply don't want to be part of that

Sadly I think missing out on champions league is what we need.
a kick up the arse to sort the direction of the club.
kane leaves, son sold and we have to start all over again
In the past that would have been written off as unlucky but not anymore
