I don't think anyone actually knows anything. Pretty much any journalist out there is doing exactly what we are. Guessing.

I bet even Levy doesn't know who he wants. Not that that's much of a gamble :woot:
Haha this is the only thing we can really say for certain is levy doesn’t know who he wants and will make some random decision based on some advice he’ll have even given from the last person he spoke to.

It’s all a complete fugasi

I’d have taken Tuchel before we appointed Conte. So I’m all in on this one. He will weed out the weak links in the squad right and sharpish.

Get what you’re saying and I’m not massively in favour of Tuchel but I actually think he would buy into our history more than the last 3 managers.
before we played and got schooled by his Dortmund team in the Europa League in the early Poch days he did a press conference saying he was a spurs fan as a child. So yeah I think he would buy in I just worry he would stick with playing 3 shambolic defenders instead of 2.

Agree with the premise of what you’re saying although I’m not sure his style of play is as pragmatic and boring as you think…

They completely outplayed and dominated us every time they played us, they pressed and dominated possession, his Dortmund team was absolutely electric and phenomenal to watch and his PSG side knocked it around fairly nicely.

He’s not really who I’d like us to get but I wouldn’t hate it and don’t think the football would be as bad as it has been under the last 3 managers, Tuchel is from the gegenpressing school of managers, very different to Jose, Conte, Nuno low blocks and counter.
Oh tuchels teams are boring. Theyre boring because you cant get the ball off them, they kill the game through possesion and passing triangles. But when that's your team its a whole lot less boring. Its also very pass and move, spurs id.

Some will get board of that. But some people find Pochs football quite boring as his commitment to building from the back did mean we would build, go back to defense, build, go back to defense quite often. Hes certainly completely different to our previous 3 managers.

Come on Tuchel just falls into the Jose, conte, mould, another top manager who has succeeded elsewhere with big names and big cash and who for obvious reasons would fall the way of mourinho and Conte. We need a "project manager" to work within our special operating boundaries....

Appointing Tuchel would once again underline that Levy and the board have not learned from past mistakes.

Why should Tuchel succeed where Conte and Jose have failed?

special operating boundaries is the best metaphor for Daniel Levy I have heard for a while 😂

I don't want Tuchel, as @snakehipsspurs has put brilliantly above it would show we lack a long term strategy and are just looking for the best name to bring in as apposed the best manager for us.

I do wonder if this is due to Contes position becoming untenable, is Levy not willing to give Mason the temp gig until the summer so he is going for Tuchel now?

I am very critical of Levy but I don't see how he would believe Tuchel is what we need. If Conte was seeing out the season then Tuchel wouldn't be considered surely. If true, this stinks of panic mode and trying to salvage top 4.

Plays nicer football and not so much of a negative Nancy? 🤷‍♂️

Also has a very strong handshake and pulls off wearing baseball caps 🧢

Tuchel has worked at Dortmund which I guess we are fairly comparable to. My worry is he is always falling out with owners and he doesn't really have a track record of sitting at a club for several years to build something significant.

My main ask for the next manager is to play attacking football and he prepared to rip things up and build over the course of several windows. Less of this 'we must back the manager with his shortlist of 1 centre back or he's going to have a meltdown'. It has to be a gradual thing, and play the sort of football that can hopefully keep fans on board. Does that fit Tuchel? 🤔

If we get Tuchel, we might as well contact Potter at the same time and sign a pre contract agreement for 18 months time.

I can't see why Tuchel would want to come here, unless he thinks he can do what AVB/Jose/Conte couldn't and sees that as a challenge.

It will be another short term appointment though and will end badly.

To be fair it would be nice to turn up at WHL and actually watch spurs pass the ball around rather than the opposition for once 😅😂

If the new manager can guarantee an average of over 55% possession I’m in
