Also means if other clubs want him we’ve been successful, surely a better option than keeping a gaping manager who no one wants?I have no concerns about employing someone that might want to go elsewhere after a short spell. The game has changed anyway and our football model should be robust enough to accommodate changes to the head coach, regardless.
This of course means that the football structure needs to be in place in order to do that (lol @ Spurs having a robust football model).
Disagree. Kompany would get a lot more respect from current players and the media because of his history in the PL. Slot has no history or positive perception here and a few bad results and he'd immediately be right under pressure,Barring a disaster, one will win the Championship and the other the Eredivisie...both very good achievements. I would still say that Slot looks the less risky of the two.
I'd dare say given the current mood in the fanbase, the next manager chap is going to be right under pressure from day 1!Disagree. Yeah. Saw clip of Alex Crook from TalkSPORT, when he said Nagelsmann shouldn't want this job because we don't have manager, lol.Isn’t that maybe a sign that the social media pity party is getting a little over-the-top?
In the NFL they talk quite a lot about "coaching trees". That is a particularly influential coach and then all the coaches that have worked with him who go on to be successful in their own right. If say we did appoint Kompany, it would be quite telling that out of the "big six" four of the coaches would come from the Pep coaching tree. Pep himself, and Arteta, Ten Hag, and Kompany, who've all worked with him.

I just think that whoever came in and was a success, they will be linked with a move. I really don't think that it's worth worrying about.
I can see what you are saying - chances are we won't be going for him but I do think that we worry too much about what might happen if we recruit a new coach. History tells us that two or three years is probably as good as it gets and that is the way that it is tending to trend now anyway. But you will probably not get a manager who loves the club in the same way Poch did, as he will already have another team in the same league in his heart.
There are probably people here now who want him gone already. And they don't even know who "him" is yet...I'd dare say given the current mood in the fanbase, the next manager chap is going to be right under pressure from day 1!
Kompany would also immediately be right under pressure after a few bad results? Ultimately Slot is much better and proven manager than KompanyDisagree.
