No, I think it would be remiss to ignore the biggest newspaper in Lisbon reporting on the manager of their local club having an interview with Tottenham. Id say it's quite relevant to our manager search.

If it's some random bloke on twitter I agree

My ‘this’ comment was agreeing with A & C about getting rid of twitter - notice how I marked that section of his post in bold to highlight it 😉😉

Apologies, didn't expand his message to see the bolded part.

Then you link the article the twitter post is taken from. If you think the news is important enough to share one extra click doesn't seem to be too much extra effort.

Think Rodgers was at Chelsea longer than Potter. Mourinho signed him to manage academy sides.
To be honest Rodgers seemed completely devoid of ideas towards the end at Leicester. I'm not sure he would solve our defensive problems......probably not many that can without serious investment.
Rodgers is the king of being on the wrong end of 4-3 results. His team's.have always been weak defensively. I'd rather steer clear and focus on a more rounded manager.

Depends what you mean by ‘solve’. To become an excellent defensive team we probably need 3 first team upgrades. To become an average one we probably need 1 good CB and a competent manager. And the thing is, an average defence would have us top 4 right now.

Either way, I don’t Rodgers is the right choice. He has never been a good manager defensively - even his signature Liverpool 2013/14 side conceded 50 goals - and by the end at Leicester they were a shambles at the back

It's the fact its printed front page on the newspaper that the original poster was sharing. ie not a throwaway comment. Unless you want them to post you a copy

Then, if they are credible, post the origin or source of the story not the aggregators 👍🏻

Edit: it’s probably worth repeating, do not post aggregators. See above

Sorry, the point I'm making is it is a photograph of printed press. Showing the front page of the printed press making it clear its not a throwaway, its obviously a big story for them.

Unless the poster travelled to Portugal and took a photo themselves I don't know what else you wanted them to do. The article referred to was already posted earlier.

For the record I'm in full agreement RE aggregators who twist information. A lot of shit gets posted and I don't think it's fair to jump on someone posting "actual" (may not be true) news stories

People say this but I really don’t agree at this point in time.

After the last 3 years we absolutely need stability.

Yes sure once the new man is in place then we focus on ourselves and try to not think that far ahead because if our manager does get linked with other clubs it’ll be because they’ve done a good job.

But what I’m saying is that there are a ton of realistic managers we could get right now who aren’t as likely to have a constant narrative about a move to a certain club come up in the media from day 1 week after week so why give ourselves that distraction if we don’t need to that’s all.

Well I question how much power we give a narrative, what does it say about us and the club that we can't handle some speculation or conjecture from the press? I mean whose to say that if things start to go well that Nagelsmann or Slot won't be linked with other clubs also, what happens when they're linked? Does the stability then disappear?

I get that. Point is it's unnecessary and the original source could be posted just as easily. That way we wouldn't get all the bullshit that comes along with Twitter.

True but as I said those guys weren't previous club legends at a PL rival, that was my main point.

You find the source and post that, the newspaper must have a website. Or download the photo and use that. But in the vast majority of cases there will be a link which can be used

We’ve literally always asked it be done like this

Sorry, I can delete if necessary.

It was an odd one because it showed the physical paper copy and I couldn't find that original story living online anywhere. I just did some deeper digging and there is an online article here stashed away on their site: https://www.record.pt/futebol/futeb...ting/detalhe/tottenham-reune-com-ruben-amorim

It's protected by a paywall however unless we have any Portuguese residents here 😂😂

Honestly 99% of the board took it as you meant it given what you actually posted, cheers for posting it 👍

As much as I like Amorim I still feel he would be too expensive, and yes I know Levy often pays managers good money, I just think with the options available there are others linked who he would look at first, and with more interest.

I know formation isn't everything but I just feel like the sooner we bite the bullet and transition to 4 at the back permanently the better even if it means a few rocky months getting players to fit it to start with. We aren't ever going to be serial winners we won't spend that way we just want to be entertained and win the odd thing from time to time. I just cant see any real entertainment coming from being constantly outnumbered in midfield and out pressed. This is why i'm not thrilled with the Amorim links.
