This all stinks of flirting with two managers in Naglesmann and Slot, pissing them both off for not making them feel first choice and then going for third choice Ange.

My take is we couldn’t (at the time) provide Nagelsmann with assurances over who he would be working with because at that point we just didn’t know who is was going to be, so we moved onto Slot who didn’t have the same requests.
Perhaps now we are closing in on (potentially) Krösche, Nagelsmann is attainable again, be that at Krösche‘s specific suggestion, or maybe just the sheer fact we have a DoF candidate we can put to JN.

JN certainly has the pedigree but it just doesn't feel right to me. All the stuff from Bayern about the difficult personality etc sounds a bit familiar to our previous lot, even Poch at the end of his time here. Levy is probably panicking after yesterday's shitshow and thinks he needs a big name again to get everyone back on side. JN may at least arouse interest from some decent players this summer which is just as well because there is literally nothing else attractive about us right now.

I’m not sure, but if (Big If) we get the next manager appointment right, someone who plays exciting football and has some charisma, I don’t think we will have problems attracting the players.

They will know it’s a start of an exciting project (hopefully!), opportunities to get into the first team of a traditional top 6 side, with the chance of fighting for champions league football. Plus we would pay them well, as long as we go back to targeting the right sort of players.

I’m desperately trying to look for positives, I know, but things have got to change at some point.

Based on nothing, I feel like JN was the top pick, but it turned out he has a point of view on things and wants more control and autonomy - Daniel doesn't like giving this up being the little dictator he is, so then Slot looked like the more mailable manager, someone who won't ask for as much or put up as much of a fuss, someone who will fit into the hierarchy and accept it.

And then yesterday, the palpable toxicity and venom towards him (Levy) and the apathy towards the football, I feel like we may have shifted again in typical Spurs fashion. Back towards JN (I hope!) I got a sense yesterday that Levy was feeling the pressure, that he might for once realise how bad it is at the club, and weirdly all based on one game, the loss, the walkout and the pathetic lap of honour (shame). If we'd won, I reckon he'd have felt more secure and safe to go with someone like Slot, but I genuinely felt like yesterday could have impacted decisions. It seems crazy to say, but since we have no plan or strategy, I feel like they're making arbitrary decisions that change daily. The weight of emotion and pressure yesterday could force Levy into making a tougher choice (for him), but it might be the best choice for the club and the football.

All based on nothing but my feels.

Is that the follow up on Amazon?

I hope the Nagelsmann news is not true. If we can flip back and forth between prospective managers with this much ease then it just shows we’ve learnt nothing.

We seem nothing but reactionary and until that changes we will be where we are.

This has the feel that we wanted Nagelsmann and didn't think we would get him.
We then settled on Slot and he came across well but then we thought we had/have another chance with Nagelsmann.
What's betting we end up with neither as Nagelsmann doesn't get the reassurances he wants and Slot gets tired of waiting and feels messed around.
We will then consider Amorim who also felt pissed around after we fluttered our eyelashes at him only to keep him on the back burner.
We will probably then move on the Postecoglu who realises he was an afterthought and either stays at Celtic as he awaits a better job or takes a job in the prem at somewhere like West Ham.
We will end up with someone like Inzaghi Potter or Rodgers.
My two pence
Think it has the feel of we’ve spoken to Slot and his employers just what a fair whack of compo

Surely spurs would leak it to Ali if they were leaking it to anyone and didn't a number of journos get the last leak as well?
They probably don’t feel the need to do another press brief and have just responded to this request. Dan KP and Ali won’t run a new article saying what they’ve already said. Expect a sentence on it in their next round-ups but nothing more.

Seems like it won’t be Slot given the Feyenoords Directors comments and we have albeit a no name journalist reporting that Spurs again saying no interest in Nagelsmann…soooo it won’t be our supporters two top choices? Levy and the board really backing themselves into a corner when they hire some random defensive manager again..

Thing is, we've been through all this before, hence Conte.

I couldn’t disagree more, if we want slot they are just saying paying up and I’m sure if he’s the one we want money won’t be an issue to get him

Feyenoord comments are the standard response when a club doesn't want to lose their manager.

Exactly, I think there's way to much over thinking going in to what's behind these articles! We're a club subject to speculation, as such news sources will use that to fill column inches, be it truth or not!

Also I’d take it as a positive that they have come out with this, it confirms we want him and negotiations are afoot for him
