Good day with the bat for Oz against India today.

I think Head for 150 tomorrow. It's been hard for a lot of today but the main work is done and with the excitement in the morning it shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes to finish off.

Only saw the first session and that was hard work on a tricky deck.
So pleased for Heady. Is now playing his natural game of attack and looking fantastic.
Looks like he has picked up where he left off last Aussie summer.

Been thinking about the England test XI (bored AF at work, ngl). I think we need another bowler in there, Stokes as the 5th bowler is too much of a risk IMO.

I love watching Crawley bat, but he'd drop out, then Bairstow or Ali (probably Bairstow, as Ali can't play the short ball, let alone against a new rock!) would open, with the other batting at 7. Broad coming in at 8 is a bit of a long tail, but should have enough in the top 7 to negate that...hopefully! You also have to take 20 wickets to win a Test match, and a partially crocked Stokes, a fragile Robinson, a 36 yo Broad and a 40 yo Benjamin Button-esque Jimmy could be pushing it. Throw in a spinner who hasn't played red-ball cricket for a few years too...!

My XI -

Duckett
Bairstow/Ali
Pope
Root
Brook
Stokes
Bairstow/Ali
Broad
Robinson
Anderson
AN Other Bowler (Wood? Potts? Tongue?)

Australia only had one good partnership in this innings. Obviously it had to involve Smith but I'd say anything new we learn will be from how the Indian batsmen face up because the Aussie batting line up doesn't look scary at all.

Their bowling is looking pretty good. Boland looks a threat to say the least.

These Indian players really can't be arsed with this. There's far too much money in the IPL. They'd rather be driving around in their Ferraris with the Bollywood starlets. Bunch of wasters.

Aussie ****s!

Try waiting until it’s actually given out properly before you all walk off the ground boys…

Disrespectful to the laws of the game.

Mind you it pretty much sums up how cricket/professional sport has gone/is going…

If an England player claims a similar catch during the Ashes series, you'll hear the complaints from the Aussie players all the way to Oz, and no mistake, guv'nor.
Not from me.
Could have been a Dutch player!
It was out. Fair catch. End of.
No complaints. It was reviewed. Out.

I agree with you - feels like another bowler would be useful unless Stokes is mega-fit.

Hilariously, Dom Sibley scoring 140 from 415 in a record breaking run chase of 501 is likely to have pushed him further out of the England picture 😂

Prepare yourselves for a raft of think-pieces questioning Bazball when the Aussies roll us for 120 ish

I haven't seen us take the game to the Aussies like we intend to since Day 1 at Edgbaston 2005, but we have to accept there is huge risk with that approach. The players seem to be 100% on board, so let's hope the media don't shit the bed when/if we get skittled for a low one.

Since when has a Test started on a Friday? I booked in to ‘work from home’ today presuming it was starting today only to look at the dates just now and realised I’d royally cocked up!😬😬

It's a good thing - it's less suspicious now you're working from home when there is no cricket.
