Well, fair to say that half didn't pan out the way I expected!

Think Ange will be a bit fucked off at the last few minutes but other than that - if he wanted bravery, he got it.

Nice to see that players are taking this prestigous trophy seriously. On a serious note we are doing much better than we should considering number of matches and time that Postecoglu had with them. I thought that Perisic would want to return to Hajduk and retire soon but he is playing like a man who wants to prove himself and take a spot from Son.

Early shout for a team v Brentford based on preseason

Vicario
Emerson Romero VDV Udogie
Bissouma
LoCelso Maddison
Kulusevski Kane/Richy Perisic
Yea can’t argue much with that mate, could also play Solomon instead of Perisic based on pre season.

If people think Gio & Maddison is too offensive then swap Gio out for Skipp or Sarr who’ve both also had good pre seasons but yea I’d play both of them.

Lo Celso, Perisic and Bissouma all look like the players we’d hoped we signed. Amazing what a bit of coaching can do.
Also, playing under a style of play that we haven’t seen Spurs play in years as well as those players now showing their attacking quality.

What the second string attacking side have shown is that we have a very decent squad.

I'd say that is quite likely though I reckon Sarr is going to start instead of Lo Celso and probably Son as well let's be honest.

Potentially going early here but I think Ange might be the greatest coach in the history of the game

Kinda hope we take Bissouma off early in the 2nd half both so he's fresh for Sunday and to prevent this ref from letting him get injured.
Agree. We’ve seen enough. Would love to win the trophy but Sunday is more important.

Sanchez has been magnificent. Honestly believe he could be a very useful alternative for us, if he stays. Not a popular opinion with the «ffs Sanchez» crowd, but I’ll stand by my words.

Still think we need a run of PL games to be sure about him.
But I like the way he is probing and prompting in this game
He was probably our second best player in first season with Mourinho and we had a top 4 record during that time (couldn't make up for lost points earlier in the end). And he was playing deeper, was less mature and more turnover prone.

The best thing about this is that Ange won't be happy and will still demand more from the players. Even though we didn't have the most robust pre-season in terms of competitive fixtures, it's clear that Ange has been hard at work drilling in his ideas and philosophy. Not having to play in Europe this year might be extremely helpful in getting the players to exactly where Ange wants them to be.
