I genuinely think this could be the play here. Coach and convert Deki into someone who can rotate with Maddison at the #10 position.

Sell Lo celso and bring Fati on a loan. We would then have Johnson for the right with Solomon. Richi and Fati as CF, Perisic and Son on the left.
Yeah I've thought Kulusevski would end up as a number 10 ever since we signed him. I think he could be very effective there.

JUST IN: #thfc have asked to sign Ansu Fati on loan and FC Barcelona are open to this formula.

This is coming from Gerard Romero, top source for Barca I believe.

Yes he is the Barca equivalent of Ornstein with Arsenal.

Feels like there is a lot of momentum with this tonight.

Loan may suit all parties.

The kid’s knee is fine. It’s not like he blew out the whole thing and had it restructured. He had a meniscus tear/rupture which they attempted to repair. The repair failed and they removed the damaged part of his meniscus. It’s a very common sports injury. Had it happen to myself while teenager playing basketball. The major concerns are years down the road when older and arthritis kicks in because you have no cartilage and you are bone on bone in areas. You do tend to get sore after workouts and physical activity but your speed and explosiveness are not at all impacted after recovery.

This suggests that it might be a clean loan with no option/obligation.

To be honest though even if its a loan with an option, I feel that that's a bit of a pointless endeavour because if he's successful then Barca will want him back and there's no way that Fati would turn that opportunity down for us.

PS: Apologies for posting aggregator, but it was from a twitch stream so no other source to post.

Unless Gil could play there?

Ugh really don't know how I feel about Fati. My head says he's good enough to make an impact even without blistering pace and is young enough to "relearn" how to affect matches.

But also I see on here links to Edwards and my heart says go for someone like him if w want two WF?
Damn I completely forgot about Gil for a moment! Yeah he will be 100% going if Fati comes. Also Fati isn’t much bigger then Gil physical so no idea how he adapts to the PL.

Re Edwards seeing as both play RW, if there is even slight truth in that rumours I’m sure it’s as an alternative/back up to Johnson.

For what it’s worth I think I’d actually be more excited by Fati then Johnson because at one point he was one of the biggest young prospect in the world. The kid literally had the world at his feet and he’s still only 20. But since his injury…. Idk. Mentally I’m just as worried as I am about his physical change. The gambler in me thinks let’s role the dice but the realist thinks it will be a massive failure. There is a certain excitement tho because i remember watching him when he first started playing. At 16/17 he was essentially carrying the Barca team for a while. Crazy.

Personally I’d still swap Fati and Johnson for Williams but that’s not helpful and not realistic.

I’d be surprised if a player could get out of a loan/option arrangement. Otherwise what’s the point.

Loan with no option would be really weird from us. Doing the hard work on his fitness for Barca/another club.

Barca want to insert a buyback clause that won’t happen with levy. They’re open to a sale with a loan . Gio could sweeten the deal . But right now hoping to reach an agreement on loan aswell as securing the club with a say if he does well option/obligation.
