On a serious note, it has been a game I expected.

After getting thrashed last week, Hodgsin has done what most older British coaches do. Just stay compact and play direct.

Maddison is struggling to get into areas where he can influence.
Kulusevski has a man forcing him back before he even receives it and can't spin them.
Son is being allowed to drop but as soon as he runs in behind, Palace drop really deep and crowd him out.

But we have our own issues which arent helping.

Richarlison is having a stinker with the ball at times and cannot go on the left which is compunded by the fact Davies is not the type of full-back comfortable with underlaps (technique/athleticism) and playign centrally.

So every time we work the ball to the left, Palace are happy to send one out to press but drop the others knowing that Richarlison and Davies cannot beat them 1v1.

The simple swap is to put Son on the left and Johnson come on in the centre,

We could also switch Deki and Richy for Johnson and Gil.

If Bentancur is okay, I would bring him on for Sarr and tell him to make lots of underlaps with the objective of running at the Palace defence inside
Think I predicted similar. A tight game with Roy happy to get a draw or nick a goal. So long as his team frustrate and don't concede after what happened at Newcastle he'll be happy.

Our U21s have just beat Sunderland away 4-2 and are now five points clear at the top of the table.

Richy and Kulu have to be the route through, or their replacements in the second half do.

Been poor.

Unbelievable Udogie understands Ange system so much better than Davies.

Just don't think Davies has the attributes to do the job required in this system. Udogie has come in and is setting the bar high making Davies look even more unsuitable in this system.

Don't really see how Davies fits into the team. Not suited as CB nor the LB role. Probably another one who is living on borrowed time and will soon be moved on imo.

Richy out - brendan in or maybe even Locelco to get that extra creativity.
Richy had his starting chanses for me, just not good enough

Just keep hating, mate. Richy created the biggest chance, not his fault Maddison can't square it off to Son. What did Son, Madders and Kulu do better this match?
I'm not hating on him. None of our forwards have played well, but Richarlison basically never has a good game. I like his energy, I just don't think he's the answer for us in any of the forward positions.

There’s no space in the middle for Madders to operate and that’s easy for Palace at the moment because we’ve offered so little out wide. Put on Johnson or Gil for Richy to give them something to worry about on the left and that might create some space elsewhere.

The booing for Romero who got body checked was ridiculous!
They've booed when we (twice) had our Achilles raked and one where the player wiped out Romero with no interest in the ball (and no free kick was given)

Ref is allowing them to get away with far too much. Hopefully it doesn't lead to anything bad...

Newcastle rinsed Palace on the wings last week. Given we played on Monday, I’m really surprised he stuck with two players who lack pace and only look to cut in constantly. Would much rather see Johnson and Gil.

This game has gone exactly as I expected. Hodgson hasn't managed 500 matches in England for no reason

Has his team setup up to stifle our player and with the ref allowing them to be overly physical without punishing them it has allowed our play to be broken up and become disjointed. We haven't really had a period of possession where we hemmed them into their defensive third so far.

Feel like we need to move the ball a little bit quicker and if we can do that we will create a chance or two, it then whether we take them that will decide the match.

I think it’s a case of Deki or Richy as your wide players you need one of your wingers with top end pace and who is a 1v1 demon. Deki brings a lot more to the table, Richy needs to be ushered out in my opinion

That said, Deki hasn’t done anything today so far except pass it backwards. When he plays like this he is incredibly frustrating to me
Don't think he's a bad player by any stretch but he's definitely upgradable, not to say I'd be looking to get shot bt the way. We desperately need somebody to go past a man in games like these, neither can do it.
