I doubt it at...given game is at our home
Doucoure has scored 3 of their last 6 games. Him missing is a huge thing in their midfield.

I fully expect us to beat them at lane tomorrow
I am still a bit nervous for tomorrow. Everton will be tough to breakdown still and we are missing some key creative players.

A win tomorrow though will show good progress. It is generally against teams like that who sit back and have struggled against this season.

Everton are in great form and have the weapons to trouble us in midfield and set pieces (not corners - we seem invulnerable from corners for reasons beyond me).

What we have going for us is history. We have an excellent record against Everton. Let's hope it gets us over the line

I want Villa to fall and I really dislike Cash after what he did to Bentacur but if you put some of these posts in the oppositon thread and the comments were about us, some of you would be saying their fans are weird.

Don't really want our fanbase to become like that.

Anyway, I don't think Villa will be able to sustain it because largely they have been poor away from home and Europe is going to take its toll. They have been very good at home up until now.

Hopefully, we can get through this sticky period, get players back and be able to look forward to a strong second half of the season

The Mr nice guy peronsa not acting very nice when he doesn't win it seems

Good ebening
Of course he's fuming though. Any proper manager would be. Must be so hard to push down all the frustration when you are mandated to appear before the press. Especially when you know they'll be trying everything to get a usable quote.

Really hope so. The top 5 is still pretty tight with Liverpool and Arsenal to play each other tomorrow. Would not surprise me if that is a draw.

A result against an in form Everton team would be a huge win, given the context of our injuries and suspensions. If Maddison, VdV and Bentancur all come back to form quickly, we could have a very good run of results through February and March

Doucoure has been the reason Everton came back to form of late. His presence in midfield, able to win tackles and also arrive into box late to score + his aerial ability in set pieces - Him missing is a huge issue for them.

IMO, if we score early, we should be able to see of Everton.

They have also won 4 on the bounce.

Law of averages in PL tells you they are due a defeat.

I know that seems a real simplistic way of looking at things but it is also really hard to maintain winning form in this league

It's really only about Cash. I think most of us admire Emery and what he's done with the team.

But Cash has injured 3 of our players in recent years and got away with it every single time. And given what Bents had just come back from - Spurs fanbase has every right to want that **** to suffer and any fanbase in the world would react the same way.

He should feel lucky not to have been booked for simulation.

Ah really, I haven't seen a replay tbf.

Just saw him go down and hold his head and I thought the rules meant play would have needed to stop

Play stops if the ref thinks an injury is "serious". In recent seasons they've been instructed to view head injuries as more likely to be serious but there isn't an automatic rule and refs still have discretion especially if a player is trying to fake an injury to stop the match.

Agreed. I would go with sarr at 6 as we’ll need his legs. Then Gio and Kulu 8/10 so we have a lot of creativity in there

Gotta take a client to the irons today… and I’ve forgotten my glasses. Not gonna see a thing. Might not be a bad thing…
