The score really ought to be 2-0 or 3-0 and out of sight. We've been absolutely dreadful all over the pitch. Completely outfought for the ball and sluggish in possession. Fortunately, we have some magic players, specifically Dele, and Gazzaniga, having fucked up for the goal, has redeemed himself with some excellent saves.

But we can't keep the ball, we keep arriving second to perfectly decent passes from our own players and we keep passing straight to opponents. Add in Rashford, who is certainly in the mood, and we're getting pulled all over the pitch.

When Man U get the ball, they race right through our midfield into the final third. When we get it, we gaze in a puzzled manner at their two banks of four, already in position, and ping the ball back and forth aimlessly until someone passes to an opponent. Lucas has been the worst for losing the ball - he's been late to the pass, caught in possession, overrun the ball, everything you can do to be ineffective, he's done.

A totally one-sided half and it's bizarre that we aren't already out of the game.

Can't play any worse, surely.

Sort of been doing one good half under Jose, one not so good.

Dele scored just before the break against Olmypiakos... Let's hope something similar happens second half tonight.

Debatable as to whether it was a decent Rashford shot or his mistake, but feel like Gazzaniga has since kept us in it despite the artillery they had before our goal

Spot on.

I wrote him off the instant their goal went in and was on my way round Hugo’s to give him my elbow, but Gazza has proved me wrong - fine stops, kept us right in this.

Dele's 2 seconds of brilliance was the only noteworthy Spurs highlight. Other than that we've been abysmal. Like so many other times our problems stem from the midfield. Too defensively disorganised to shield the midfield, too much lack of quality to bypass United's press play.

Sanchez has given the ball away so many times - and his back-heel for the manu goal was sublime

Jane is dropping far to deep.. making it far to easy for their defence.. need to target Fred he's no good under pressure & we're giving him far to much time on the ball.. making him look half decent... No need for changes yet

Not a great first half for us. Rashford has looked very dangerous. Fred has been very good.

But I believe we have a stronger team and better options from the bench. This is Jose's bread and butter. A few tweaks and well timed subs and we can win this.

Massive lack in quality with both Winks and Sissoko.

I’d take off both Sissoko and Winks for Dier and Ndomb

I wouldn't take off Sissoko he's done pretty well covering for Aurier, just wish he wouldn't give the ball away so much; mind could have ago at few on that score.

Gazza made 4 excellent saves in that half. And I've never bought this goalie guff about "shouldn't be beaten at your near post". Nonsense. Keeper has the whole goal to worry about. Maybe he should've saved it, but it's hit early, low and very hard from 14 yards out. Bounced nastily. Meh.

Winks <> Ndombele, but leave the rest as it is, incl. Lucas. Hasn't clicked for him, but he looks fit and fast to me. Leave him on. They had half dozen chances, we had none, and it's 1-1. We can smash & grab here.

Is WInks on a per-yard of turf covered? He's going to have a surprise after the match when he hits the shower to find he's worked his balls off. Absolute overtime effort from him, I wonder if Jose told him he's going to be coming off at half time or on the hour before the match, so he's going full tilt knowing he can burn out early?
