Ok now they have a thread on him. Looks like it's new interest if there is anything in it.

I'm also a bit confused as to why Palace wouldn't just have him back if he's that highly rated - they're not exactly spoilt for strikers and they keep loaning that useless bloke from Chelsea :cautious:
I think we’re (maybe) buying him off trabzonspor because they have an option to sign him, so they’ll sign him off palace then sell straight away

United have a thread going on him now and they are far more sanguine over it

This amused me

I get it. Sign as many of Haaland's mates as possible so that in two years time he will agree to come here and we can spend the rest of the transfer window refusing to pay for him.

According to the biggest newspapers in Norway (both VG and Dagbladet), Alex Sørloth is in Leipzig today together with his agent for his medical and signing of contract. The biggest newspaper from his local area (Adresseavisa), claims that he´s in Germany, and they´re siting German media outlets like Leipziger Volkszeitung, Bild and German Sky.

As I said before the weekend (cleared with the admins) as I have contacts close in his camp: he will go to Leipzig (salt, etc.). Nothing has changed since then.

The ManU link is from Turkey, and most likely Trabzonspor´s way of trying to raise the price or force a move through more quickly.

Don’t disagree on that or your info, but apparently things have moved on since he has been there, and that the medical has at the last minute been cancelled due to another offer. Who knows

I've backed him up too much on here, don't want him now. If he comes and fails, I won't be able to live it down when the virgins come for me
Show some back bone man! This guy is the one. I’ll actually be gutted if he goes to Utd after the lengths I went to fighting his corner. I’m off to change my avatar to Sørloth right now.

I like him. Gives me Pav vibes. Palace was a bad team to go to at that point. His goal scoring record before and after that spell is consistently good.

Yeah it seems more likely that he will sign for Leipzig but they may have moved his medical.

Some news outlets must have caught wind about the medical and gone for a 2+2=5 approach and claim he must be going elsewhere.

Wonder what that was all about then. Probably COVID related or something like needing a test before he went in.

Transfer now expected to go through. Seems to have been about money in the end.

For Sørloth if it was about money, he would go to a PL team 7 days a week. He´ll defintely make less money with Leipzig than with Spurs or any other PL club. But at 24 (25 in December) it is about playing. He just had the best season in his career and has a real chance to form a super exciting striker partnership for Norway together with Haaland (right now it looks like he´s positioned himself to be able to put Josh King on the Norway bench). To return to England and sit on the bench, especially after that devastating period at Palace, doesn´t make much sense for him in the long run. He´s at an important crossroads of his career, and to be honest I think he´s chosen absolutely correctly for himself. RB Leipzig suits him in the way they play, it´s a young and hungry club with a young and exciting manager, and not at least: they were looking for a new number one striker. For a hungry player on the up, it´s by far the smarter choice IMHO.

And I´m guessing that if he does well there over the next couple of seasons, who´s saying another chance in the PL will not present itself? Or with one of the even bigger Bundesliga clubs? And it´s not like he´ll be on pauper wages at RBL either ...
