I'm fine with it. He creates space and chances with his movement. He isn't the finisher we need but he'll do a job whilst we're light up top.

He's still a top level player despite the criticism.

that came out of no where! On paper a good option for Ange if he still has pace to spare, but always seemed a bit wasteful from what I saw of him. Would love it to work, but I'm not sure its any more than a hesitant maybe for me

I read a couple of days ago United might take him on loan until the summer so it's pretty clear his agent is busily pushing his case.
Personally I am steadfast in my ambiguity about him.

Reading up on some RBL fans views on him and it doesnt make for pretty reading. They think he is a shadow of his former self, is their 4th choice striker and I keep seeing comments about how he has lost his speed.

Lets hope a fresh start and new system will reinvigorate him. I just hope we arent getting bodies in for the sake of it as players that are in poor form and move in Jan dont usually make an impact.

Do we think this has happened because of the injury to Veliz?

Son missing is certainly a problem but I thought we'd manage and maybe bring in a winger to help.

Or is this because Ange likes him and wants to see of he is worth a transfer here?

Do not really see a downside to a 6 month loan with option, if option has an agreeable fee now.

We keep losing bodies, Ange system and press from front should suit him and his presence would allows player to be rotated/rested.

It's an alternative to Jota , let's be honest.

We were never going big on a wide forward in Jan , that'll come in the summer.

I'm pretty comfortable with this.

All the above.

Short term, low risk move I can see the virtue in for adding squad depth, especially in the interim but I can’t say I’d approve any commitment longer than the end of the season and taking up a non HG spot

It's only a body through the door for cover until the summer and that's it.

Any available cash will be used on the CB and CM targets, dragon (yeah, I know) and Gallagher, if we can get it through.

Absolutely love Ange but I’m concerned about his judgement in attackers so far.

This is an absolutely shocking signing and doesn’t fix any of our issues. Can’t finish as a striker, no technical ability and can’t dribble as a wide player.

This stinks of when we signed Nelsen and Saha in 11/12 despite being right near the top with a chance to push for the league title.

And in fairness we can also say Ange chose him but what if the options presented to him are all shit?

I think it’s a good idea.

Question is why are Leipzig ok to let
him go on loan.

Definitely feels like a stop gap before we have a proper summer clear out.
