A Ryanair flight has just left Leipzig for Stanstead.

I presume the club would fork out the premium for an extra leg room seat.
Nah he'd have 1 of those standing seats Ryanair were talking about few years back

Name me these clinical PL strikers though even at that price.

Haaland & Kane. Net contribution from someone like Toney or Watkins is arguably less. Beyond that you are looking at the likes of Son and Salah who are wide forward freaks really.
It's a weird way to evidence it, but when I find myself needing a striker in Fantasy Football, it's very slim pickings.

I don't think the position is fading away but there just isn't a huge number of good options either in England or elsewhere.

I really like the look of Joao Pedro this season, he looks a superb striker and has a bit of everything to succeed at a bigger club.

Do you know what concerns Chelsea fans more than anything else about this? Another Salah/De Bruyne moment. Not that I'm saying Werner is close to either of those, I mean they are concerned Ange gets the best out of him and he becomes much more of a player than the one they had which again makes the club look stupid.
😂
I think ‘stupid’ has been their default setting for a couple of years. This barely moves the needle on their stupidity seismic activity monitor!!

Many a truth told in jest. I have this suspicion that Ange won‘t trust Bissouma as much as he did at one time. Many will disagree but I think he has some bridges to build before being first choice in a fully fit squad.
It was only half jest TBH. We all know Lolo is a world class midfielder when he is at his best and I see Sarr developing week by week into a real talent, whilst Biss has shown to be a little unreliable. It's going to be interesting how Ange moves forwards once all available and fit.

Objectively his finishing has been poor.

But regardless, I’m optimistic. He was shit hot before Chelsea. No downside, a lot of upside for us.

I think the observation that "his finishing has been poor" is overstated. I don't think that he is any more wasteful than (for example) Richy's two chances early in the first half on Friday.

Let's look on the positive side.

There is a difference between him and Richarlison in that Richarlison has never had a season where he's banged in 34 goals and 13 assists in 45 matches. He is capable - just a case whether his confidence is completely shot nowadays. He crumbled a bit under the pressure at Chelsea which isn't a great sign.

Got a strange feeling he'll do well for us.

And if he does, £18m at 27 years old would be an absolute steal.

As already mentioned too, if he doesn't do well or just does okay, he goes back, but will provide good cover on the left mainly with Perisic out, Son gone for the month and Gil not looking likely to be the player we hoped for.

This guy needs to be the main striker, and he needs support and belief.

If he gets that, I think he could do quite well, and for that price, it’s a no brainer.

Good luck to the guy. Let’s get behind him

So is it an option, or obligation to buy?
£18m won’t bankrupt the club, and could end up bloody good business if he does well.

I sense that, too. And all of his own making.

I pray if/when Timo joins Spurs, that he scores against Chelsea, preferably the winner, so that he shoves this idiots (Rory Jennings) words down his neck, can’t stand the bloke!

Covid could well have played its part. Now I know it was the same for everybody, but people react differently in situations. Must have been quite hard to move during covid. The empty stadiums etc...
