Football intelligence reminds me of carrick, doesn’t waste a pass. Tries to be progressive at all times. Rather like sarr can see him getting a lot better

Seems similar to Wharton. Very comfortable taking the ball on the turn and gets the ball froward well. Can't help wondering how good Wharton would look in the Antwerp team (or Ollie Skipp for that matter). Still, I'm more than happy with whatever the scouts and recruiting team are doing right now.

Not seen anything apart from youtube videos, but most of those he has a but load of timeto turn and pick out passes.
Obviously i am no scout, but midfielders in PL needs to have already made the descision on where to turn and pass, before they receive the ball as they wil have 1 or 2 players.

A bit harder to scout a propper midfielder on youtibe, as a lot have to do with positioning before the clip even starts, so not going to judge :)

I was thinking this myself, but worth noting Vermeeren is a year younger than Wharton and now also has Champions League experience

I’m not so sure whether it’s a wise move to spend £50m on Nusa AND this lad. At 18, he’s likely one for way down the line, much like Devine was when we brought him.

Maybe if he signs a long contract, we can kick the fee further enough down the road that it doesn’t hinge too much on our budget for senior players who can make an impact right now.

Hindsight’s a wonderful thing - they could both turn out to be £100m players in a couple of seasons, it just concerns me if we put all our eggs in the prospects basket. A balanced transfer window always strikes me as the best way to go about things.

We have signed Dragusin and Werner who are right now options. A proper strategy has to have different facets. Clearly we have invested well in potential over the last few years. Udogie and Sarr showing the importance of getting it right.

Personally I’m happier signing the likes of this lad and Nusa who have the potential to be great additions than someone like Lloyd Kelly at this point. He isn’t going to play, will block the progression of others and will be deadwood in no time.

What if we've decided that the right now options are either too expensive, been told they're not available, or there are potentially better options available at the end of this window due to FFP problems and we have money budgeted for this, none of us know how this will all pan out.

Yeah but how many times have we not done it then said why didn’t we sign them when we had the chance?

Haha exactly. I don’t think our squad is that far away personally. Plus if we can shift Rodon tanganga, hojberg, spence even for small money it’ll pay mostly for these two and I’m sure we’ll have budget for one big signing in summer.
If Gio can stay fit (big if) and skipp continues his improvement with this young lad in I think our midfield is sorted

I‘m not saying there’s a right or wrong answer really. Nusa and another first team option for the now might be the better way to go however.

Dortmund and Brighton are 2 clubs that have done it brilliantly. If we can repeat their success then that’s great, but I’d edge towards balancing the 2.

4/5 away I reckon from an unbelievable squad, GLC I don't think can be relied upon which is a shame.

No point worrying about the budget side of things. We have the best man for the job there.

He’s playing right back today by the looks of it next to Toby.
They’re at home to Sporting de Charleroi kick off 12.30 for anyone interested. 😊

We have a very balanced squad right now. We’ve brought in a veteran attacker who can compete right away, and a younger CB who is also ready to compete.

Supplementing those players with Sarr or Udogie types is exactly how you keep the roster progressing
