In Spain's realm, a winger divine,
Clubs vie fiercely, their eyes align.
With speed and skill, he steals the show,
A Spanish winger, where will he go? 🦅 🇪🇸

It is a curse of mine that I overly analyse this sort of thing, but...

There is a winger in Spain, who is renowned for being a devout Christian (a winger divine),

Who holds a Spanish passport (although doesn't play for them)

And who, I kid you not, has the tattoo of an eagle (the things I know, eh?)

And if one assumes that 'realm' is used by WLB to mean 'Real M' (i.e. Real Madrid), then all the evidence points to a player who has been linked to several clubs in the Premier League in recent weeks and, indeed, was linked to us last summer (admittedly in an article that garnered 39 funny ratings from the sensible folk of SC)...

I'm not saying that WLB has said we're in for Rodrygo, but I am saying that one can draw that conclusion from what he has written (at least until he says I'm chatting bollocks).

Whether you’re right or wrong, stunning work.

It is also worth noting that WLB did suggest Williams wasn’t the target when he mentioned we were looking at a WF in Spain a month or so ago. There is a lot of talk about RM needing to sell an attacker due to Mbappe and Endrick joining plus Rodrygo himself has talked about not being completely comfortable on the right.

Obviously on the flip side there are reports coming out linking us with Williams and is probably him but your breakdown does make sense.

I just cant see us paying what RM will want for Rodrygo and surely bigger clubs will go for him if he is available.
Tbh I think the same big clubs would go for Williams, if anything I’d expect there to be more competition for Nico given his likely cheaper price. The one big club we all know is looking to spend large on a LW is PSG and after Mbappe going to RM I can imagine their relationship is somewhat strained. Who else is there that would spend that sort of fee on a left winger? Probably not us tbf 😂.

You are right about the price, he’d probably be in the same price bracket as Kvara and I doubt we will be spending 70-100 mil on a WF no matter how good he is. One can dream tho.

Watching Rodrygo again tonight and very impressed with his ability again, would be an excellent signing if at all possible.

In shadows cast, whispers rise,
A Swedish striker, coveted prize.
In summer's dance, clubs may vie,
For his goals, they'll reach the sky. This is my last one bet you lot don’t get it ;)

He’s on the list but there’s a special player we hold as no 1 and he might be achievable we hope anyway no one has said it either 😆

I really struggle to see Williams coming to the PL. I refuse to get my hopes up, he’s too perfect a target.
I agree ☝️ family motivation here is key but we are talking with his team atm conditions have to be so right Bilbao seem to know how to keep players in Spain it’s doable and we like him …lining are ducks but he’s not our first choice

That's quite interesting to know. Just makes me wonder who would top our list as number one choice if not Nico Williams.
