Got to get Sonny back on the left. Just wasted where he is.. cannot hold the ball up.
Those crosses coming across from Johnson have a far better chance of going in if Son is on the end. Werner. Do me a favour. Yesterday!!!!
I agree he can't hold the ball up, but the reason he's so ineffective through the middle is because we keep playing a high line and condensing 21 players into one half of the pitch! If we sat deeper, he would be able to run in behind, play through balls to Werner or Johnson and get into the box or run from deep on his own. All of which play to his strengths as a player who can run pretty fast and shoot from the edge of the box when he isn't surrounded by defenders. Ange took him off like it was his fault, when in actual reality, Ange is insisting we play a type of football only Man City have truly mastered so Son has to receive the ball with his back to goal and his touch and physical weakness are exposed. Its the managers fault.
It isn't going to matter who we pick against Arsenal. If we play a high line we are done for. Same as Chelsea. Same as Fulham. Same as Newcastle. Ange has to stop being so stubborn and short sighted and play in a way that works for this squad and this league!!! (Nothing personal, just ranting) :)

Still think this will be really difficult but at least there is a decent break between now and then and now they’ve just unexpectedly lost to villa, if they go out the CL to Bayern then there would be a chance for us to effectively end there season which would be nice and as they say in NLD’s form always goes out the window.

Hope Richy is somehow fit to start

Need Richarlison to help us defend set-pieces. Nobody else knows how to jump, maybe Dragusin but they would kill him with their pressing.

I'd love Richy to be fit, with Sonny back out on the left. However I think Timo would do well up against Madge Harvey with his pace.

There's no way Ange drops Sonny though I believe.

Royal is fine on the right, and I'd like to see Deki start as he offers more ability to hold the ball up and more defensively than Johnson would too.

What I'd like to see;

Vicario
Royal Romero VDV Udogie
Bissouma
Bentancur Madders
Kulu Richy Timo
What I think Ange will go with;

Vicario
Royal Romero VDV Udogie
Bissouma Sarr
Maddison
Johnson Son Timo

Thought it was interesting that Rio Ferdinand said that when he was a player he always wanted to have a big game after a bad defeat.

Said it was easier to motivate yourself and focus.

Teams run straight through us as the centre halves have nobody in front of them. I would play Romero as DM and bring in Dragusin. I would also get our full backs to play more like full backs, rather than leave Saka and Martinelli (or whoever) with acres of space. Ange won't do any of that and i hope he is proved right!

Vicario

Emerson
Romero
VDV
Udogie

PEH
Bentancur
Lo Celso

Johnson
Richy* if injured then Son up top, Kulu RW and Johnson LW* I know Kulu is out of from but Werner had a shocker last match so Kulu deserves to be brought back in.
Son
This is what I would do also. But WTF do I know.

I want to see changes in either formation or personel. Something needs to change.

Sarr in for Bissouma, Kulusevski in for Johnson, Hojbjerg in for Bentancur. I'm no fan of PEH but he deserves it. We'll need BJ off the bench.

We are not going to have arsenal pinned in their half the way we have done for a lot of teams, Arsenal should come out to play so dont mind Son up top for this one if needed, but if Richarlison is able to start lets give him the first hour with Son on the left.

None of our forwards are particularly in form so would just go with whoever Ange sees as looking the most up for it these next two weeks to start at RW. One of werner or johnson should sit so we have some pace off the bench later in the game if needed (but give them enough time to make an impact!)

Middle of the park i'm hoping we go with Bentancour and Sarr. Madders whilst not playing well, similar to Son should have more space the operate in than he's had the last 4-5 games so can hopefully capitalise on that.

Just remembered we're playing 3 games in 7 days.

Might effect the lineup.
Thought we would reap the benefits of not playing as many games this season.

Instead, it's been NO GAMES........LOADS OF GAMES........NO GAMES...... LOADS OF GAMES.

... and the worst three months of absent players that I can remember in years.

God help us. The first half will be like first game of the season. Not quite up to the pace after 2 weeks off.
We will then get into gear for the second half .
They must be sick of training. Dier said that there is virtually no tactical stuff. Just continually practicising
the way we play. Earlier this season I said that I hoped Ange would not end up like Bielsa. That is doing well for so long and then being worked out and get a few beatings.
We have had Fulham and Newcastle and do not need any more.

You have to be capable of playing a high line and breaking teams down to win this league. That doesn't mean you have to play that way every game.

I think against Arsenal we'll be more transitional which might mean that Son up front works better. Against low blocks though I think Richarlison is our only option right now.
