FT 2-0 win. We finish top of the table with a game to spare. We therefore face the team who finish 16th in the playoffs if I'm not mistaken.

So we don't get a trophy unless we win the play-offs? Still immensely proud of the boys but annoying we smash a league and it still might not be good enough. 😂

All about developing players at this level rather than just winning trophies is the thought process. Good for the players to experience a more intense knockout format.

Better surely for that to be a separate competition? I'm not sure that there is much development value in asking young lads to play in a season long league format, win that format, and then base success or failure on how they then do in a much more random knockout cup.

By all means have the knockouts, but it should be an end of season cup competition entirely separate from the league.

We last participated in 2018/19 (third time).
Topped the group with Wolfsburg, Bilbao and Norwich.
Went out to finalists Dinamo Zagreb in knocklout stage.
Seems Jack Roles was a key player scoring many goals.

This guy reminds me of Kane at this age.
No thrills but a natural goalscorer, get ball, score goal.
It was interesting watching him play with Scarlett where Dane looked the more accomplished footballer but Lankshear looked like he was just going to score every time.
And, just like Kane, there was no ego which is the biggest hindrance to most players development.

It’s a really big year next year for some of these players. We need to get some of these young talents ready for the first team.

Lankshear, Donley, Dorrington, Santiago should train with the first team over the summer and get a loan out alongside Devine/Phillips/Scarlett. I’d probably put Gunter in that category too, he looks really good. Interesting to see if Moore is ready too.

Personally, I’d like to see Donley, Santiago and one of Dorrington/Phillips as options for midfield and defence next season with Gil and Gio likely going. Spend that money on a nice shiny striker, winger, DM and backup at FB.
