Anyone who is in their 40s will have grown up with Football Italia on C4 in the 90s... more so than the Premier League I'll wager. And the players we watched week in week out... Maldini, Del Piero, Baggio, Recoba. Vialli, Zola, Zidane, Nedved, Signori. There's no one like them around anymore. If I have an Italian team its Fiorentina because of Batistuta and Rui Costa.

"BAGGIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" - practically every commentator on Football Italia on a regular basis.

When Barnet were playing at Underhill, I went to see them quite a bit as there were my local team. So I guess them, I do still very occasional go to the Hive. But Spurs are now my local team if we're talking about top 7 leagues

Southend United. My father took me to my first game in the late 60s. FA Cup 1st Round where Southend beat Kings Lynn 9-0. My second visit to Roots Hall was against Brentwood Town in the FA Cup 2nd round. Amazingly, the Shrimpers went o e better and won 10.-1. Garry Moore scored 4 but was undone by other forward Billy Best who scored 5 times.

The only time I've not wanted Southend to win was against Spurs. Even then I always hoped the Shrimpers wouldn't be humiliated.

As a school kid I trained with Southend. A few years later I shed blood on the terraces for them in trips up north. Was arrested at Brentford and banned from Griffin (not Griffen) Park after a rather unsavoury row with the locals.

I always keep an eye out for Southend's results. My cousin's lad Jack Bridge is now arguably their best player.
Now I see the reason for your username.

I’ve started to go to a few more Cambridge United games when I’m not at Spurs. Wouldn’t go as far to call them my second team but they are my local team and I have to admit it’s a great day out. It was hilarious last weekend standing with the regulars while they were bantering with Stanley Mills (Danny Mills son) of Oxford United.

I’ve seen Newcastle live more times than I’ve seen Spurs… because I did my a levels and degree up there, then emigrated… and I still have a huge soft spot for them… same with Villa, as my stepdad was offered a pro contract with them in the 60s, and now that he’s gone, I associate them with him, but there’s no second team. Not really. I’m cursed with this mob.

Tranmere Rovers. My girlfriend is from Wirral and is a diehard fan. We go to the away games when they are around London. We went to some pretty grim places last season lol. I went to more Tranmere games than Spurs games last season! Although she always moans that Spurs are on TV EVERY weekend.

I keep an eye on the results of Stevenage (local) and Halifax (my dad's team) but Spurs are the only one I get emotional about.

Swindon Town
Lived there for a few years as a kid, then loved seeing Don Rogers destroy Woolwich Wanderers at Wembley in the 1969 League Cup Final.

The mighty Stones (Maidstone United)

Grew up going to every match as I was a ball-boy, Dad controlled the overhead tannoy announcements / music, Mum & Sister were stewards. Used to play in the old school division 4 but the club went into administration in '92. I was only 11 at the time so didn't really understand too much about what was going on just remember it being the only time I ever saw my dad cry .

Since then they reformed at the very bottom tier of the football pyramid and worked their way back up the leagues. We've managed to dip our heads up into the National League twice but each time we've found ourselves seriously out classed by semi-professional teams and fall back down to National League South.

In that tricky position of being too good for NL-S but not good enough for NL. Only way we can compete in NL is to get rid of all our part-time players who have normal jobs and replace with disillusioned mercenaries with no link or connection to the club. It's such a shame as the team and fans had such a close bond while climbing up the leagues but the last few years have seen so much change and turnover of players / management that they've lost the connection to the fans.

On a plus point though our main chant is COME ON YOU STONES (in the same style as COYS)

Celta Vigo for me. My Spanish flat mate and I exchanged kits in the late 90’s before he headed back to Spain. He’s now stuck with Spurs as his second team… :)
