So Joey Barton has posted a picture of his votes for the POTY and YPOTY, so here's a thread for people to say who they would vote for the Team of the Year, Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.
Here's my Team of the Year (4-3-1-2):
GK- Cech- Has been quite good for Arsenal, not sure anyone else deserves it.
RB- Bellerin- Another Arsenal player unfortunately. Again, there's been no real outstanding RB (or LB) this season but Bellerin's really looked good at times this year.
CB- Alderweireld- No explanation needed really. Best CB in the league this season by a mile.
CB- Smalling- Been impressed with him when I've seen him this season, and United have the 2nd best defence this season.
LB- Monreal? I genuinely have no idea.
DM- Kante. This guy has been fucking insane. I'm not the oldest of fans, so I can't compare him against many PL players in the past, but I think he may have been the most impressive Centre Midfielder I've seen. His work-rate is phenomenal, he's extremely intelligent with his positioning, he's a great tackler and not bad at all going forward as well. I wish he was a Spurs player. I know @Bus-Conductor likes him so maybe he can add more later (and help be by comparing him to someone else in the past- I've heard he's like Makelele)
CM- Alli- I'll say it quietly, but I think I'd actually have Payet in over Alli. However, he's almost guaranteed to win YPOTY (deservedly) so that automatically means (I think) that he'll be in the Team of the Year. Regardless of whether he should be in it or not, he's still been incredible for a 19-year-old in his first season after playing in League 1 last season. He's got 7 goals and 8 assists, which means he's contributed highly to our season, and most importantly, he's a match-winner, which is a fantastic quality to have at such a young age.
CM- Ozil- There's now question-marks about if he'll break the assists record, but it cannot be argued that he hasn't been amazing at times this season. It could be argued that Payet could make it over Ozil, but I don't think that will happen.
CAM- Mahrez- Best player in the league this season, with 15 goals and 11 assists, which are incredible stats. Not many players can be such great goalscorers and have top creativity, but Mahrez has done that this season, being the key to Leicester's attacking success.
ST- Vardy- Broke the PL record for most consecutive games scored, and has been very effective for Leicester. Still a very good chance he will be top-scorer, and he definitely deserves a place in the TOTY.
ST- Kane- Very difficult to choose between Lukaku and Kane, both of whom have been great again this season. However, given our position in the table, I think Kane will end up in the Team. After a dodgy run at the start of the season, it's a fantastic achievement for him to be challenging for the Golden Boot at the end of the season, and he's proved himself to be arguably one of the top strikers in Europe. Definitely run close by Lukaku though.
POTY- Mahrez
YPOTY- Alli
