At least the second time it's happened this season. I presume because we have so many injuries, 25-man squad etc. But can't we just put a youth team player in or something? Oh how I yearn for the days where you'd put a hot young prospect on the bench to make an unexpected impact. It is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen, might as well name four subs

Also the fact they were in Blackburn meant they probably didnt want to take a youth player on the long trip, whereas i guess they usually take 3 keepers anyway in case Gomes runs into a goalpost during warm-up.
If it was at WHL it might have been different, or not, i dunno.

I speculated on this in the match thread yesterday. My conclusion was that Gomes may have been carrying a minor injury...was considered fit enough to go on, but Harry had niggling doubts about whether he'd definitely last the full 90.
If that was the case he might have wanted to backup the backup...just in case Gomes hobbled off after 2 mins and we have no one in case Cudicini gets injured/sent off.
Either that or he just likes his company.

I just hope that the FA put us all out of a misery and offer him the England job ASAP.
Get back to a proper structure with DOF, scouting policy and a manager whose not the media's best friend and also not always available for quote.

Seriously, well said. Some people need to get some perspective. I seriously cannot believe that after a difficult away win with half a team, people get on our managers back. Our most succesful manager in decade's back. And not only that, want to rip out the entire structure that formed the platform for a top four finish.
