What an amazing goal difference we've ended on this season

+ 60 is exactly the same as the great double side

They scored 115 and conceded 55

The double side:

1960/61
42 31 4 7 115 55 60 66 Three points for a win - 97 points - 2.31
2016/17
38 26 8 4 86 26 60 86 - 2.26

I wonder where this puts us in relation to other teams best goal differences throughout history?

It's fucking absurd.

This team is the best Spurs side I've seen in my lifetime by a country bloody mile.

The last two results have been complete and utter madness. Slaughter. Destruction. Complete and utter annihilation of the opposition.

Just like the great double side.

This team is destined for great things, and as I mentioned in the Dier thread, anyone who wants to leave the club this summer is a fucking idiot.

Since early 80,s Spurs did well to get near plus 10, this team is so superior in both defence and goals

"I bet City and Arsenal are shitting themselves"

I won't name names, but after we beat Swansea 5-0 and I dared to suggest that our GD was catching up with the aforementioned teams, that was the sarcastic response I got.

Well, they certainly should have been shitting it, hey?

On a serious note, what an achievement. That GD is more in the tune of a Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich title winning campaign. The most impressive aspect is the goals conceded because there's been cases in the past (Liverpool 13/14) in which teams have got a high GD but it's been at the expense of conceding a lot too.

To be able to score so many goals whilst keeping it tight at the back is extremely impressive.

Not sure about top flight but is the 4th highest ever Premier League goal difference.

1st - Chelsea 2009/10 +71
2nd - Man City 2013/14 +65
3rd - Man City 2011/12 +64

Man Utd's Highest GD's in the PL +58, Liverpool's is +51 and Arsenals is +51.

Tottenham Hotspur 38 26 8 4 86 26 60 86

86 goals - best attack in the league
26 against - best defence in the league
4 - least losses in the league
60 - best overall goal difference...

And Poch is clearly prepared to avoid draws from now on, which is the biggest issue we had this season.

Looking fwd to seeing who we bring in over the summer. It's going to be critical we get it right if we want to challenge for the title.

The most significant moment this season compared to last is that once we dropped points at West Ham this time round, we picked ourselves up and scored 15 goals while conceding 3 in our last three games. Our mentality has strengthened this year, culminating in us finishing on a frighteningly good run. Our slow start cost us but my God this is the best squad I've seen in my time. And we're getting better.

The value of the experience 12 months on from last year is insane; we really are becoming a force

This is Pochettinos work. He is Fergie reincarnated. We simply have to keep him.

A +60 GD is incredible for any team. But its even more incredible for us. Just a few years ago we couldnt stop leaking goals and struggled to end seasons with a positive GD. What Pochettino has done with the defense while still giving the team the freedom to attack and entertain is nothing short of remarkable.

So, basically, it's the highest ever PL goal difference achieved by a proper club.

This is the happiest feeling I've had has as a spurs fan without us winning a trophy.
I have no disappointment about not winning the league because its not like last year when the title was up for grabs and Leicester won it.

Frankly I never expected us to be in the position of title contenders when we were coping with the CL. It was tremendously satisfying to secure 2nd place and watch the dog fight for the remaining CL places between 3 much richer clubs down below.

We came through a tough run of games that had 3 London derbies plus man utd and only dropped 3 points. We scored 13 goals in the last 2 games. There was no foot off the gas or tiring out. They really passed all the tests that I had set out in my own head.

All I can ask of any spurs team is that they
do best, this team has certainly done that. So I cant be disappointed.

The only disappointing aspect is all the speculation about players leaving. But thats all it is speculation. The most important thing is that Poch will remain our manager.

Any credit to Levy? :)
