How does everyone feel about Poch signing a 5 year deal?

Does this represent more Levy madness, or does it represent a shift in the way Levy think? Has he taken the trigger happy criticisms seriously and decided to finally try to actually aim for a 5 year plan?

I think it's a good sign of intent but we don't know if there are any clauses that could be triggered if things don't work out.

Depends on if Levy has the patience to see it through. On initial reading now, it looks as though Levy is willing to give him the time. However, you only have to look at Moyes being sacked by United after signing a 6 year contract. It's both good and bad.

5 years is good. At least it shows that "MP" is here for the longer term. Also, Let us all welcome "MP" to Spurs N17, Home of the Lilywhites! Whatever the differences in wanting the new Head Coach....let us all put behind it and support MP and his journey as the new Head Coach of Tottenham Hotspurs. Lets be patience and let him do his job......since it is a 5 years contract, let him do his job for at least 3 seasons before judging him. He needs everyone support to make it happened....the team needs you, Supporters to be behind them!!! COYS!

Very good-says that Levy has chosen the man to take us forward over the next 5 years and will back him fully to do just that. Of course in reality it's unlikely to pan out that way but that's what it says at face value.

It doesn't really matter.

How he does in terms of performance and potential for development being evident is all that matters. The rest takes care of itself.

It's a symbol, like Moyes' long contract at Utd. Won't be worth much if he's not successful, but the intent is nice to see.

Great compensation is he's poached by a bigger team though. Or maybe a massive deterrent, since buying out his contract would be prohibitively expensive.

No, probably the former.

Levy will have inserted a get out of jail free card into the contract. It really wouldn't surprise me if this doesn't last longer than 24 months.

But Levy's a good old boy.

Verryyyyyyy Good in my eyes. Unless there are some clauses, a 5 year contract suggests he is here for the long run.

The contract length isn't worth the paper it's written on.
my concern with Pocho are is he flexible in tactics to win games. Has he got the bottle to take on big ego players.

I don't think it means much, I still think Levy will pull the trigger if he hasn't achieved CL football or a trophy by the end of year two

Good statement of intent barring shit football , multiple batterings and relegation he should get time to get it right.

Five years is merely Pochettino looking at the avg life expectancy of a Spurs manager and getting the longest contract he can get, thereby maximising his pay-off when he is inevitably sacked in November 2015 for only being 5th after 10 games.
