Pardon the bump.

Wharton was an unused sub tonight as they best Wrexham 4-1 at home in the Cup.

Seems like they're cashing in before the deadline.

A loan back would suit us nicely with Hojbjerg staying until the summer.

Would it suit Palace? Probably less so.
He plays the full 90 mins on Saturday. I think there’s a more then decent chance he was just being rested. I wouldn’t necessarily read too much into it. Personally I don’t see us moving for him this window even with a loan back. Considering our interest in Gallagher I think we will wait until summer and reassess the midfield position then.

You could be right on both counts, though even still I do expect them to sell in Jan.

Apparently HMRC threatened them with a winding up order last month, and the Venkys had to apply to the Indian courts for permission to pay it as Modi has embargoed any foreign investment.

The owners have managed to pay but the club still have huge debts and very little working capital.

Shame for them as they've produced two outstanding young players from the local community in Phillips and Wharton.

I don't know why, but I'm kind of happy to see Palace make that signing. Their lack of ambition and direction somehow annoys me even. Wharton, Olise and Eze is a really good trio to build on.

Very good move for them. Probably knew that if they waited until summer he would go to a bigger club. Transfer window finally seems to be ramping up. TBH I would be more excited by him then Gallagher.

David Ornstein on the Athletic has said that Crystal Palace have agreed a deal with Blackburn for around £22 million plus add ons.

Think we'll regret missing out on Wharton at some point, just like we do now with Eze and Olise.
