I’m all for it, as long as it doesn’t prevent us from closing deals on priority positions. He may be an alleged butt head, but he would be our second best midfielder, immediately. He is better than PEH, and arguably Bissouma too. Also just more experienced than Skippy at this juncture. Plus gives us flexibility to play a 352.

He also has Lloris and Lenglet at the club. Plus he is familiar with Benta and Kulu. So, he would settle in quickly one would think.

If playing a 352… A three man midfield with him, Bentancur and Bissouma is formidable.

Plus if we snatch him from the goons, that’s always an added bonus! ?

However, I generally agree that he is not a priority.

He turned down man u in the summer as he wanted more wages than they would offer. I just can't see how it's possible for us to sign a player that said no to man u as they weren't offering enough in wages because they blow us out of water on wages

Maybe after not getting an offer to meet his demands, he’s lowered them?

maybe our interest in him is part of the tension between levy and conte?

He's out of contract at end of season so why take an offer from us lower than what man u offered in the summer? Wages obviously a big deal for him so can't see why he would accept a lower offer now from us when he'll be on a free in the summer.

Great in CL this year, haven't watched him in Seria A but has good stats there.

We're just being used to drum up some interest, Juve are skint and want any bit of cash they can get in for someone who can walk for free in the Summer.

Bit like Eriksen.

This is all agent talk imo

Yeah. Would be a pointless signing for us. We already have four quality centre mids and only play two in midfield. If we were to sign a central midfielder - and I don't think we will - they would have to be more attacking/creative to offer skillsets we don't already have.

Yes. He thinks he's above us and his mum is an absolute nightmare to deal with.

She probably sent him to bed without dinner when he failed to win the World Cup.
Are there quotes anywhere where he says beneath us? All I see is clickbait articles saying it with no actual quotes lol

Agree with everything re:wages and his mom, but I too wonder if he's that much of a bad personality.

Rabiot rejected Spurs 4 years ago because we were “below his level…”

Absolutely a good player. No doubt but certainly agree that if we have limited funds he isn’t where we should be going. But for 13 mil it’s certainly tempting
Hopefully we've moved on from signing decent players who we don't really need, just because they're available on the cheap, then underutilising them / displacing a existing player of similar quality...while neglecting to improve weaker areas.

We've signed four CMs in recent times. Three are clearly good enough and are all key players for their national team. The other (Sarr) is a decent young prospect. If we were to sign another CM of similar ilk in January, without it being a significant upgrade and a CM being sold on, it would suggest a significant lack of transfer strategy.

Arsenal would be mad to stick a potentially disruptive player like Rabiot in to a dressing room full of kids. Heres hoping anyway ?
