This is exactly what we've heard for weeks. Wages and fees clearly not an issue for us, Conte wants him and Inter need money. But he'd ideally like to stay, and Inter would ideally like to sell others so they can keep him. If they can't shift anyone else, he's the one they'll push out.

Either way we'll know in the next couple of weeks, and it's still plenty early enough to move on to Torres if it doesn't happen. No point following the cycle of random Italian media articles, it's just noise.

Looks like this one's dead in the water. That is unless this is the part where our massive offer sweeps him off his feet.

As people said before in the thread, not many Italians leave their league, even more so to England. It is very possible he just doesn't want to leave his country (just like Kane wouldn't want to go to Bayern for example).

It's no slant on us. He might have a girlfriend or family who might not want to relocate.

On the other hand it could be PR fluff to try and soften the blow PR wise. Inter had to sell as the offer was too high and he had to leave because Inter needed him to.

With Gvardiol and Torres we have good backup targets regardless.

There's not really much more we can do if, as suggested we have put a handsome package together to both Inter and Bastoni.

I didn't think it was going to ever just be, pay the money and he's ours. I thought that getting the player to actually want to come was going to be the biggest hurdle to overcome.

Be an amazing signing if we can get this to fruition, but I think there's alot more persuading to be done yet.

At this stage it’s hard to know what is and isn’t accurate.

If he genuinely doesn’t want to join us its better to know early and move on, rather than scrabbling around in the basement bucket on the last day of the window!

The story being fed to the journalist(s) today looks like: Bastoni is an Inter fan, he wants to stay at the club, he isn't keen to go BUT if Inter get a big enough offer then he could be 'persuaded' to leave as that money will help to secure the club's financial future.

Whether the story is coming from the play/agent's side or from the club, it seems to me like a positive sign that the deal is there to be done.

Well, if he doesn't want to move then next please, that's should be pretty clear. Dunno what's the truth though.

I can see this one happening. This is going to be like the Romero Saga from last summer.

All summer he was linked with us and no one else. The story kept shifting from, he doesn't want to come or not enough money being offered etc.

It's the same posturing going on again, but I think this will eventually happen as he's not really being linked to any other club other than Spurs.

This is going to be going round in circles with the media as they need something to write about, but I'm confident this will happen.

Inter just need to sort their replacement out and create the story that "they didn't want to sell, bastoni didn't want to leave, but we need the money so both player and club agreed that this is best for inter." they both save face and both get favorable deals.

Kim Min Jae rumours surfacing again

Wouldn't surprise me. Can see Rodon and Sanchez (+CCV) leave, Rodon need games and Sevilla likely to be in the market for Sanchez again when they sell Kounde.
And people on top at our club would love for us to sign another Korean star before we go there on tour. Will be a significant PR move.

Like DeAndre Yedlin?

I hope we go for sport reasons only.
