Should they get Lukaku/dybala tandem in, Bastoni will stay there as Lautaro will make space!

I think that could still blow their wage budget so they will need to sell someone else anyway (Probably not Bastoni though)

Interesting comments on Twit from PoK that Inter had already sold the Rom debt to a 3rd party because of how screwed financially they are. So Rom going back probably doesn’t help solve their financial mismanagement.

Hold the line

It means they sold the rights to the Lukaku deal to a third party for instant cash, and so Chelsea now owe the third party and not Inter.

No idea if this is correct or not but that's what the poster in inferring.

Yeah it means that Inter have effectively had the money up front and Chelsea's instalments are due to a finance house. So Inter are unable to write off the amount owed on Lukaku. For all intents and purposes Lukaku might as well been sold by another club at this point. Which is why this talk of loan deals makes sense.

The question then comes down to who Inter need to sell out of Bastoni or Lautaro.

Would Inter fans be ok with Lukaku, Dybala and Bremer in and both Lautaro and Bastoni out? Tough call but that probably gets Inter comfortably where they need to be whilst remaining competitive.

I take it that means even if Chelsea want to swap Lukaku for Martinez they in effect can’t as the debt would still be outstanding?

Chelsea - get Martinez
Inter - get Lukaku
3rd Party - still owed circa £80m
