Only just realised how good a job he's done at Norwich.

It seemed like a weird decision, perhaps even a bit of a joke, that he was appointed in January, but they're 2nd in the Championship now. Something like a 70% win percentage!

Even in his work at Hamilton, he got the full time job at 31, got them promoted in his first season and was I think 3 points off the top of the SPL before he left.

Have a feeling he's going to be at one of the top clubs if he keeps it up...

Genuinely though his record is fantastic, and not just at Norwich.

There's some good managers in that division at the moment.

Definitely. They're all up the top of the league too.

Eddie Howe has done a brilliant job, it's abhorrent that they're discarding him like they are. Alex Neil, as above.

Even Shteve is on his second wind as a manager. Mr Hughton seems to be doing a shit job at Brighton so far, though.

Brighton look awful. Hughton seems to be an assistant in a managers job.

Presumably you mean Warburton at Brentford rather than Howe.

No, Howe at Bournemouth

Edit - think I've got mixed up with who's getting sacked

You are such a nonsense 225.

Warburton has been magnificent at Brentford but is leaving at the end of the season because their board are morons.

Howe has been even more magnificent at Bournemouth and, for me, is currently the best manager in the football league.

Funny how a less than a year ago people were saying that there aren't any good english managers and now all of a sudden there are a quiet a few, who all don't play football akin to the Serie A in the 90's(Roy):

Premier League:
Gary Monk
Timmy
Chris Ramsey(need to defend better though but when you got Hill in defence, its hardly surprising)
Alan Pardew (has played good football as well as getting results)
Fat Sam (he isn't popular but he has been playing good football)
Sean Dyche (not so sure about the football but he has been brilliant)

Championship
Howe
Warburton
McLaren (had Derby not got ravaged by injuries they would of gone up automatic)

I think I got mixed up with a previously crap team beginning with 'B' and a relatively unknown manager

Ah well, learnt something

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion, certainly not until we know who they'll replace him with and how that turns out. Matthew Benham has had two very good managerial appointments in a row now. Firstly taking Uwe Rösler from Norwegian football and getting to within a missed penalty of promotion, then seeing the potential in a man with no managerial experience to replace him with.

Brentford are in a very healthy position, the best they've been in for decades with a young squad and a new stadium on the way, all of which has been instigated by the owners. Don't forget how Southampton were derided for sacking Nigel Adkins when he was seemingly doing a thoroughly decent job, and look where they are now. The timing and the way in which they went about sounding out successors to Warburton was ham-fisted and clumsy at best, but if their next manager takes them up another level then plenty of words will be eaten. After all, Benham is a life long Brentford fan with the club's best interests at heart, not some Vincent Tan type pandering to shirt sales in another continent.

Technically, Levy is a life long Spurs fan with the club's best interests at heart, but some still think he's the spawn of satan.

I guess you're right, although when Poch went to Southampton it took a long time for me to see the sense in it. I think it takes him a while to get going.

Brentford have slipped quite a bit since that announcement about Warburton, so think they may have shot themselves in the foot and cost themselves promotion, although there's 5 games to go still

Yeah, it's debatable whether they would have kept pace with the top teams had none of this happened, although there's one result I think definitely went against them purely because of that, when they lost 3-0 away at Charlton who were on something like a 13 game winless run at the time. If they don't beat Derby tomorrow I think their slim chances of automatic promotion will be over, but they still have a good chance of making the play-offs. Even then, they don't have a great record in play-offs, and Norwich, Watford and Middlesboro are all stronger than them at the moment.

Play offs will be weird, as you have - for the first time in a long time - probably 4 teams that will be going into it where they are all capable of being very competitive in the PL - as well as a bunch of talented managers -

Alex Neil/Norwich, Jokanovic/Watford, Karanka/Middlesbrough, McLaren/Derby, Warburton/Burnley, Jackett/Wolves, McCarthy/Ipswich.... all of them have done great jobs, but Freedman has been impressive since Pearce left too, but I don't think they'll sneak in.

The thing about Howe too is that he was doing well managing Bournemouth (before his short stint at Burnley) prior to Maxim Demin coming in and pumping money into the club so he's proved himself as a decent manager even without having money to spend.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rosler went back to them. Don't think his Wigan spell has tarnished his reputation much, especially given what's happened since he left, and he loved every minute of his first spell.

Except that penalty miss, of course.

Monk and Howe are the best 2 on that list. Cut from the same cloth it would appear.

Funny as I slagged of Swansea something rotten when they sacked Laudrup. Did the same when Southampton sacked Atkins for Poch.

What do I know!
