Some foreign papers saying we have asked for him on loan from United for the rest of the season. Not seen much of him

Would rather stick with Fryers ... I know Buttner rarely plays but he was all over the shop the other day for Utd and at fault for a goal conceded.

Not a great fan of Buttner. If we are to go for a LB this window, could do a lot worse than Oviedo from Everton.

Yeh, this guy is 24 and currently ruining his career. He must move on. Been there since 2012 and had 7 apps, that is useless. Why are so many players hell bent on ruining their careers at big clubs? While we're on the subject of Utd players who should move on, Lindegaard is also ruining his career and has done for quite a while now.

Of what little I have seen of him he's no better than Fryers so I'd rather have him play and get valuable experience

He is much much better than Fryers.

Having said that, Fryers will end up being a CB not a left back.

definte no to buttner.. he is not very good . the no brainer here is to get someone like coentrau on loan.. give him games to get fit for world cup and we dont pay transfer money and hold off till summer .

we need a top center half and a top left back.. if we only did this in window i would be delighted. i expect no one to join though.

Dont see much truth in this, why would Man United loan us a player when we are currently direct rivals? (same amount of points).

Wouldn't exactly oppose it, but I'd rather see us just go for Ricardo Rodriguez who is the better talent and could be ours for around 8-10m.

The guy is terrible.... like really bad, why Fergie signed him I will never know. If we are after a Man U left back I would much prefer Fabio, he seems to want out and don't see why Moyes doesn't rate him. He was brilliant for QPR last season and im sure with having Sandro and Paulinho he would be intrested in coming.

I'd cream my pants if we got Rodriguez. He is one of the best young LB's in Europe atm, and has been for a couple of years. (y)

As sherwood said if we are going to get someone they should be an improvement on our first 11.

Depends on the situation IMO. At LB, yes, better get a quality LB that can improve the team but Spurs do need back-up players at CB and, if Defoe is sold, up-front too; and those players does not necessary need to improve the starting XI.
I would like to get Ricardo Rodriguez, even if it meant using, say, Siggi, as "carrot".

I'm not really sure why we've not been linked to Rodriguez. Top player, who might be gettable, in a position we need to buy for. It's a no brainer surely?

Makes sense for Wolfsburg who, despite having money, may need some extra funds to get to the asking price of Chelsea for De Bruyne.

Utd fans on Redcafe want rid, they don't rate him, would be another average player we stock pile and struggle to sell.

To be fair, we've had quite a few folks saying similar things about Siggy while he'd be great at a good many other clubs for what he does. I'm guilty of such. Want him away, as we could make a decent penny for him and he's not much use to us. Buttner however, may just fit in with us a bit more, especially with his ability to go forward (and I think he's better defensively than Rose).

I think we have money available if we take the initiative and sell off Sig, Defoe, Naughton and Livermore, (Dawson summer sale) then put it back into defensive positions with 2 quality acquisitions, CB and LB.
